    Dutch Harbor is one of the islands the crab fisherman set out from and that island is waaaaaaayyyyy out on the edge of a series of tiny islands in Alaska. My dad went up there to homestead and become a crab fisherman when he and my mom got divorced. He went up there because he wanted that kind of life.

    I love watching this show because I just heard stories about it (because he died of hypothermia when his boat got turned over by a wave) but this shows me what his job was like. He had one of these crab boats.

    R.I.P. Captain Phil. I've been watching marathon all day and I've seen commercial prob 20 times since yesterday. Maybe Ed will replace Bon Jovi at the begining of the show this year.

    YOu know, now that you mention it - I would not be surprised if they change the theme song this year. I am thinking it may be in bad taste to use the song "Wanted Dead or Alive" in light of Capt Phil's death. Maybe they will use Ed's song as the theme, it is kind of fitting, they are all trying to "Rise Up" and move on.

    I like how they use different portions of the song in each commercial.

    I too think that it will be the theme song now that Phil is gone...and that's why they are using it now for the preseason commercials.

    I think it's appropriate :)
