WAS ANYONE @ ROCHESTER SHOW IN '94?
Options
Was 94 too early for you guys? Some other fans on this site HAD to have been there. If not, you people missed an amazing show! Seems like people didn't really become fans until after 94 or something. Unfortunately, I missed a few shows out of town before this one.
04/07/94 - War Memorial: Rochester, NY
support act: Mudhoney
set: Wash, Animal, Go, Dissident, Even Flow, Why Go, Jeremy, Glorified G, Daughter/(ABitW-II)/(Across the Universe)/(It's Better to Not be Sane improv), Breath, State of Love and Trust, Rats, Once, Black, Alive, Rearviewmirror, Corduroy, Release teaser, Elderly Woman, Jam, Porch, Indifference
notes: 'Wash' hadn't been played for some time. Stone sings lovely vocals with Ed on 'Breath.' Ed comments, "Living is the best revenge" after Jeremy.' A great performance!
STATE OF LOVE AND TRUST! Look at this set list!!

Thanks for the reply. I feel old, but I'm still younger than the band. Did you know that b/c people were acting like idiots Eddie told the newspaper that they would never play Rochester again? Well, at least we have Buffalo.0 -
That was my first Pearl Jam show. I have been hooked on seeing them live ever since then.0

who's going to BUFFALO? I got my tickets on the 17th, but just in case they are back section of floor I'm going to get 4 more at noon. I am so nervous. Any tips? Has anyone ever ordered from Tickets.com before?0 -
Still one of the best shows ever. I was right after kurt died. It was when the shows were just general admission and you could go right up front. It was a very intense show. Indifference was awesome...........
I still have my bootleg cassette tapes of that show....lol. Still get chills when I think about this show.0 -
one of my best friends went there.
Driving up to the Toronto show a couple years ago, he was really talking up the experience of Rochester '94. Wish I could have been there. I was 15 or 16 with overprotective parents.0 -
My first and a hometown show taboot.
I listen my terrible sounding boot from time to time remembering how intense the JAM before Porch was:
I DON'T NEED YOUR PRESCRIPTION
I DON'T READ DON'T NEED YOUR SUBSCRIPTION
I JUST WANNA SMASH MY HEAD
IT'S NOT LIKE I HAVEN'T DONE IT BEFORE...
LEAVE ME LEAVE ME LEAVE ME LEAVE ME LEAVE ME ALONE!!!
Plus Porch is the best version I have ever seen. So dark and driven....I remember the strobe lights blowing up the building. After Porch, the house lights came on and people started leaving. I had just heard the Atlanta FOX radio broadcast a few days before hand and just KNEW for some reason that the show wasnt over yet. I made my way against the crowd and headed towards the front of the floor and BOOM...LIGHTS DOWN again. They played Indifference 12 feet in front of me with just the candles to illuminate them.
One of the best concerts I have ever seen.Maybe so, Maybe not!0 -
Wish I was... Considering I live there lol. Was only 7 at the time and had no idea who Pearl Jam was even though they were right in my back yard.0

Hey, I was at this show and it was amazing. I see this is an old post, but if anyone has a copy of that show, I have been searching for a copy of it for years. Would be great to have one.0

I was there, my first show ever, been hooked ever since.
It was amazing, I almost got crushed to death on the floor ran out of air jumping and got crowd surfed out. My pockets got picked clean...lol
I remember the whole entire building was sweating and all the windows were fogged up, it felt like a huge sauna from all the energy getting released in there. AWESOME AWESOME NIGHT! Indifference blew my mind at the end.Oh dear dad
Can you see me now
I am myself
Like you somehow
I'll ride the wave
Where it takes me
I'll hold the pain
Release me0 -
I would pay more than a backpack is worth for a very good quality boot of this show. I can't listen to crappy bootlegs, I wish the band would release this show someday if they have it PLEASE!!!!!Oh dear dad

Yeah I was too young to have gone. Well my parents could have taken me but they weren't into 90s stuff they grew up in the 60s and 70s. From all accounts it sounds like it was an awesome show. I can't believe that Pearl Jam would hold a grudge against us Rochesterians for that long! But who knows maybe people at the show really did piss them off. Shame but hey there's still Buffalo and Canada. A bootleg of this show would be amazing. Just once though I'd love to see them in my hometown.Hamilton, ON 9/13/2005
Albany NY 5/12/2006
Mansfield, MA 6/28/2008
Buffalo, NY 5/10/2010

that was my 2nd PJ show....very fun night....what a shame the next day was for us 'grunge' fans.
was just listening to a bootleg of that show & after they play 'corduroy' eddie says "that's coming out on our new record tomorrow" and you can hear people by the taper saying "what?? ohh my god...awesome".....ohh what a jokester that eddie was/is.--a--
i'm like an opening band for the sun...

Yes I was there. I had a blue Bills hat on with white lettering. Do you remember me?0

I was there and it was my first show! Me and my fraternity brothers drove from Oneonta to attend. We've been making yearly trips every since to see them perform all over the US. If anyone knows where to get a poster or copy of a poster for this show, then please hit me up:

Thought you meant Rochester, MN for a second and was like "What da?!?
Guess it could still happen, right? viewtopic.php?f=4&t=1718850 -
Listening to it right now... Phenomenal show! It was my first show and I swear it gets better every time I hear it. McCready's solo's were sick, Ed had a lot of cool improv lyrics and I couldn't have asked for a better setlist! Too bad there only seem to be AUD recordings out. Anyone know of any SBD or video sources for this show?0
