It was a pretty good shaker, I live about 10 miles from the epicenter of this one. Eek.

it was stronger here in the sgv...it woke me up...waited for it do get worse...it didn't...tried to fall back asleep but couldn't...yesterday was a long day0 -
It was weird because the alarm went off at 4 because it was the first day my daughter was starting her early morning swimming (from 5 to 6:30 - ugh) and I heard my husband get up and I thought I should get up and wish her good luck - what a great husband, HE'S the one taking her. And then - shake shake shake. Very strange and creepy.
And of course I didn't go back to sleep.0 -
I hope all is well. I have a new found appreciation for earth quakes.0

Hope everyone is alright over there.
I'm afraid the Wasatch Faultline on which I live here in Utah is on this list...seriously, I'm expecting to just one day be caught in an earthquake...the real question is where the hell will I be when it happens. :?7/2/06 - Denver, CO

Yes and No: We haven't had a noticeable earthquake near L.A. city since May of last year. At that time, there was a "cluster of quakes." We felt several smallish ones, so we got used to it.
I can't speak for anyone else, but the lapse of 10 months made me stop being used to it. If mild shakers occurred regularly every 2 months, the one on Tuesday would be nothing to type about.
I live in a 90 year old brick building. The outer wall in my living room has exposed brick. Along the bottom are Earthquake Bolts. I don't know how much they help. Yet the place is still standing after the deadly January 17, 1994 quake.
I have the best flat in the entire building: Way at the top and back where it is very quiet, the only one with a view. Unfortunately, the location also makes it difficult to rush out into the street if I wanted to escape a building collapse. I have to run down three flights of stairs and through the long narrow corridor to the front door. The "fire escape" near my apartment only takes me to the small patio out back (enclosed with security fence) and a tight passage along one side of the building where I'd have to hope I can squeeze past the dumpster to leave the property."May you live in interesting times."0
