The ticket purchasing process here is such a joke. Tickets were sold out or unavailable within the first 10-15 seconds of becoming available. The site comes down to a crawl. I mean I work in the IT field and I can be the first to tell you that developing a site and provide load balancing for high volume traffic for a website, is so easy to accomplish now-a-days that a cave man can do it. Also it DOES NOT cost that much to do it. And believe me with the money from goods, tickets, membership dues, and album sales Pearl Jam can afford it.
I would almost argue that they should not even bother doing this anymore.....It really does not pay and it be-little's the fan who spends the whole damn day trying!!!!, I mean unless they can guarantee tickets for every fan club member that has an active member ship based on the location of the venue, why bother...
And this pisses me off even more, there are already fan club members selling their tickets on Craigslist, Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrr
Ten Club/Pearl jam should re-consider the way they do their pre-sales...
Sorry for the venting..**Your dirt, is my F***King Food**

they should've had a better solution. Before I signed on i knew it would be a cluster fuck and so did every other fan. It seems like the only one's who didnt know were the people running the show."I wish I was a lucky man, well I guess that I am." EV

"We are sorry you were unable to get tickets to the Boston show. Due to supply and demand we never guarantee tickets to all fan club members. As you can see all the tickets from yesterdays pre-sale are still on the site. There are difficult markets, and not so difficult markets so your situation is specific to the show you want to go to, and not a money making scheme. Boston, NY, and DC will all be this way due to the volume of tickets versus number of fans. There’s not a whole lot we can do about that. The server did not crash. Having more fans logged in than tickets available causes a bottleneck at the door.
We apologize that you live in an area of the country where this is the ticket sale norm and understand if you’d rather not renew and buy your tickets through Ticketmaster’s service only.

I completely understand that the demand is more than the supply. My problem is with the system. There is no reason to have to sit at my computer for nearly six hours to get tickets. I, thankfully, got a pair of MSG 2 tickets, but I genuinely feel for the people who didn't get any. This was a meltdown and I have a new found respect for Ticketmaster. Yes, the service charges suck, but at least it works smoothly. It has become increasingly more difficult to get tickets through the fan club for people in the Northeast. I'm not going to boycott or anything like that, but it was a ridiculous and unnecessary experience. I'm still really tense from the whole thing.
No system is perfect, but PJ had to know that this would happen, just from past experience. I think it is insulting to the members who do deserve better than this for their undying dedication to this band. I'm generally not one to complain, but today was simply a terrible experience. Anyone who saying "stop whining" is really missing the bigger picture if they don't think things went completely awry. The ticket system is failing and I hope the band/management thinks of a way to improve the system. Like someone else said, either give the presales to a company that can handle it, or find a new way of distributing the tickets.
I'm sure I speak for many fans when I say that we are extremely grateful to have a band that sets aside something for the band, but I, for one, would gladly pay an increased service charge to get a better server just to get the tickets without the aggravation.
I'm willing to trade one of my MSG 2 tickets for an MSG 1 ticket. 10C # - 161xxxPost edited by TD-2243 on------------------------------------------------------------

I think it's more about the servers being a piece of shit. Any they've known this happens.
My point is, we only pay $20 a year, and all the tickets they had available were sold to fan club members. Pearl Jam and The Ten Club have always been an inside operation, and I for one appreciate that.0 -
Actually there is more demand than supply. Sorry I had to. I've read a bunch of these posts since the sales and most of them have made me laugh histerically.
After reading what you wrote I agree. Even though I got tix to Boston I think they should do what DMB does. They have a lottery and my wife more times than not got tix. That is the most fair way of doing things. One last thing, PJ if you're reading this please play Whip It in Boston. I need to add that to my mp3 player and can't wait for the Philly performance. Thanks.Post edited by OGT92 on"I read about the evils of drinking, so I gave up reading." - Henry Youngman0 -

I just don't see it being worth that for them or us. I mean really, they are but just a fan club, not a corporate outsourced one, but a real band-owned fan club. They are not in the ticket selling business, with the exception of their own tours (compared to TM who sells tickets for just about EVERY sporting and music events nationwide), and only a very small percentage of the tickets for those tours.

I live 20 blocks from MSG and am 0 for 4 in 10c presales since I moved to NYC. I got nothing, I got as far as checking out and putting in my credit card details for MSG1 before the tickets disappeared and I hit "buy" for MSG2 at least 50 times. My biggest frustration is I feel there is a lack of respect for our time. I think it's unacceptable for people to have to sit there for 5-6 hours refreshing a page only to be constantly met with error messages and crashes after hitting "buy". I saw "buy" so many times that it didn't even excite me anymore, cause I knew it meant nothing.
Alas I don't have any spares to swap you but would gladly take that MSG2 off your handsGlaciers melting in the dead of night and the superstars sucked into the supermassive.0 -
You said it all. I, too, spent over 6 hours. I'm just done. No band is worth this amount of aggravation.0

Yeah, it sucks you didn't get the presale tickets, but keep in mind that a TON of people wanted tickets. There were probably several hundred thousand people trying for tickets in a venue that could only hold a fraction of said people. 10 Club only had a fraction of tickets for said venue.
You can try to sue, but I don't think it'll get you anywhere. They delivered exactly what they promised. The opportunity.Presidential Advice from President-Elect Mike McCready: "Are you getting something out of this all encompassing trip?"0 -

It's not fair to complain about getting them or not, but it definitely is horrible that people had to wait 6 hours to find it out. And you can't even tell people it's there fault for trying that long when there were people still getting tickets at least 2 and a half+ hours after the sale. But it's not like 10c is torturing on purpose. I expect this sale to be what changes things up with the system. I can't remember people ever having to wait 6 hours, usually 40 minutes - 1 hour, no? 10c can't be pleased that people had to go through that.Yield!

they should only play venues on their terms, I would pay extra for seats from them, at least they would be getting the money instead of ticket broker scum, but maybe they are like Van Halen did, though I hope not and I doubt it, but I would rather they get it, it would feel less like a rip off, and I'll spend because this is the only band worth it0
