Someone please explain this poster thing to me

I've been going to PJ shows for a long time and I just don't get this obsession with the show posters
sure some of them have some nice artwork but I dont get the stress people put themselves through for a print
what am I missing out on?
Im a million miles away from home and I cant find a telephone...

    Next show u go to buy one, You will see what all the fuss is about they are like drugs. Once you try it it is hard to stop.

    pfft just buy the poster and leave. No need to see the show. Posters are the only reason I go to live shows anymore.
