- months of speculation cause tension amongst people who are seemingly unable to schedule a summer vacation that does not revolve around pearl jam, leading to multiple threads

=information from various sources (some legitimate, some completely made up) starts showing up on posts

-said information causes folks to dectry the ten club for lack of information, questioning why the shell out a whopping $20 a year to get no information

-a tweet gets stickied, kat becomes more popular than eddie vedder for a few hours

-people frantically speculate possible dates, call venues and other irrational behavior for grown adults, ensure their credit cards (visa and mastercards only!!) are all paid off

=members who joined since the most previous tour, freaking out about the ten club policy

-3 minutes after the renewal cutoff date mentioned in the tweet, people post frantically that they forgot to renew and try to look up tim's home phone number in a panic so they can get tickets

-the tour is announced.

-people question what the ticket prices are, freak out about pearl jam not playing in _____________. people complain about the lack of notice before ticket sales and/or the length of time between sales and show dates (either it is not enough time to request vacation from work or it is too much time to have to pay for tickets in advance

-ten club states that there are no additional dates and announce ticket prices.

-people becry the corporation that has beoome of the pearl jam they used to know, others defend the band, they have families, the price of gas has gone up, inflation.  pj fans are split into two camps on this issue, like a message pit civil war.

-tickets go on sale. pearljam.com crashes. about 50,000 hours of productivity is lost at work places across the country, the site comes up after about two hours and tickets are vanished.

=threads are started bragging about it being the easiest sale yet, others are started complaining it was impossible to get tickets to their hometown shows, etc.

- people freak out about email confirmations, used their parents credit card, etc.

- ten club announces more dates that were magically scheduled since the time they said there were no additional dates.

- several of the above items repeat themselves.

- the public sale ensues, and the instant sells out bother people, as if it weren't expected. ticketmaster becomes the biggest foe to pearl jam fans since nickelback.

- the tour approaches, people inquire about ticket transfers, speculate about what the best show will be, freak out about bootlegs.

- the tour begins.  each morning, people beg the ten club to release the previous nights show on vinyl, blu-ray, etc.

- the tour ends.

- the cycle starts from the beginning.

It seems like perhaps you forgot to mention smart-ass people posting threads that make fun of the earnestness of other fans. :geek:

My favorite. Just remember Hartford '08.
    Shows: 6.27.08 Hartford, CT/5.15.10 Hartford, CT/6.18.2011 Hartford, CT (EV Solo)/10.19.13 Brooklyn/10.25.13 Hartford

I just want to know where the Philly boots fit into this cycle.

There, I said it -- someone had to.

    Nice post.

You forgot that while all the complaining and questioning of why we should pay 20 dollars a year is going on, someone is writing a thread detailing the process of being a pearl jam fan and how it amazes them that the same cycle of activity is constantly going on
