Iron Maiden is underappreciated

These guys have sold 100 million albums worldwide and put on one of the best live shows in rock history...yet they're not in the Rock Hall of Fame....while Madonna is. You'll never hear Dave Murray mentioned when talking about great rock guitarists. You'll hear Slash's name a thousand times in that conversation but you won't hear Murray or Adrian Smith. And I don't see how Bruce Dickinson isn't lumped in with guys like Robert Plant, Steven Tyler, and Axl Rose as far as great, over-the-top frontmen with huge voices go.
And they rarely get played on classic rock stations. I think they'd fit in just fine with Led Zeppelin, Metallica, Deep Purple and all the usual classic rock radio suspects. So what gives? How doesn't Iron Maiden rule the world?

You could not be more correct0

Metal as a whole is under appreciated. Iron Maiden is a great band(Bring your daughter to the slaughter and Fear of the dark kick some major ass), but it really doesn't mater if they're in the Rock Hall of Fame or not. Music isn't about awards. If you like it, thats all that matters. What is human? Nature's more!0

I don't like them and I even think they're underappreciatted0

That's a conspiracy. That's because Bruce Dickinson works for British Airways, and BA is always on stike.
The media make him pay, for that.

I don't why is it that The RocK and Roll Hal Of Fame is the standard of greatness or some sort of high appreciation. They are so many should be there and are not. F the RRHOF, Iron Maiden should be there just like the same could be said for RUSH.
BTW has Iron Maiden ever graced the cover of Rolling Stone magazine, just wandering?

Well said, so long as you appreciate good music, awards are not fansBuilding Before It Breaks wrote:Metal as a whole is under appreciated. Because Ronnie James Dio eats pieces of shit like him for breakfast.
J/k, I love Iron Maiden and Dickinson has some serious pipes on him. I hear he's an ass, but who cares...the guy can belt out some awesome fucking metal. Powerslave is one of the coolest albums I've ever heard.7/2/06 - Denver, CO

Had to throw in a classic line there.
