Bad news all around, and I can't help but feel that no artists really went up against this, except for Springsteen. There really was no fight.0

that's a real bummer.0

I think they charge a fee for that. A couple bucks at least.
Yep, think it's $2.50 charge, to print ticket's online using your very own ink & paper. :?
That's fucked up.
Are there any decent forums & centers out there not run by Ticketmaster/Live Nation? I don't understand why bands & their manager's don't protest and boycott arenas & places run by Ticketmaster/Live Nation. Start booking at local hockey arena's, university stadium's, festival show's etc.. that are not run by them. Don't tell me each & every know place is run by Ticketmaster/Live Nation? That's just bs.
I love my Halifax Metro Centre. They use Ticket Atlantic! 8-)

Too bad they consider such monopolies to exist... and it only helped that Live Nation's board member Ariel Emanuel and Obama's Chief Of Staff Rahm Emanuel are brothers.
Ugh, so much for Obama's talking about corruption and holding them accountable when he gave the speech when he took the oath as the President of U.S.A. last January.... :roll:Newch91 wrote:I bet we'll see artists complain about this and fight it. And if that happens, we'll all say, "Where the fuck were you in 1994-96 when Pearl Jam fought Ticketmaster?!"
Yeah, we should get copies of the documents and send it out to the artists every time we hear them bitching, only those who could have been supporting Pearl Jam back then.
I can only dream this would work, but I wish somehow the fans could be part of the concert plannings where they can put in their money for venues that are not afflicted with TM/LM and then get a portion of their money back (minus the ticket costs that would cover for the band's expenses) when the show or tour is over.
The fans would be investing in the band themselves and getting some money back that they put down, minus any money donated to charities, etc.... that could be written off for tax purposes.
I said I could only dream....JA: Why do I get the Ticketmaster question?
EV: It's your band.

If they don't do what they are held to in the terms of the settlement then the case will be re-opened. I think we can all rest easy now that the government is going to act as watch dog in this case /sarcasm
dammit, I am not really worried about the actual ticket prices, it is the god damn fees that will get you. It is ridiculousthat’s right! Can’t we all just get together and focus on our real enemies: monogamous gays and stem cells… - Ned Flanders

I totally agree. I went to a show last year and the tickets were distributed by Brownpapertickets.com and the total amount of fees they charged per ticket was less than $2.0 -

Promoters are the ones paying the band. Guaranteeing that if they show up, they'll get paid. Live Nation is the biggest of them, and guarantees probably the best amount for the band. PJ has worked with LN and pretty much all of LN's predecessors that were bought out to become LN. PJ could decide to use a different non-LN promoter for their tour.ADD 5,200 to the post count you see, thank you.

Is it in the terms prices will go down? Or are they only saying that to make us feel better? If it’s in the terms and after a while when they don’t go down, can they be held accountable for breach of contract or some shit?*~Pearl Jam will be blasted from speakers until morale improves~*0

service fees will go up...they just won't show them as service fees..be prepared to dish out 80 bucks a show no problem for acts like pearl jam...thank you captialism.0
