I don't understand why people don't like it when e.v. speaks out...have you ever been witness to an injustice and wished that you had just a little power to do something about it? And I think that is where he is coming from that there is injustice and he can't be silent, especially if he has the little power to possibly open minds.

I don't really care one way or the other, so, I'm just going to take a stab at an answer and play devils advocate. Possibly it's because Ed's views are expressed during the concert when he is less than sober. Maybe fans get tired of the rants because they lack the eloquence of unique expression found in the man's lyrics and his obvious talent for expression. Espousing a serious political view while taking swigs from a bottle of wine and lacing the opinion with "F bombs" can degrade the credibility of the statement for some listeners.

I do not think Eddie's lack of formal education is a deterrent to the truth in which he believes or should it influence us as fans, either positively or negatively in our own thoughts and convictions. The man himself encourages everyone to fully explore these issues and intelligently derive our own opinions.

The sheep mentality of some PJ fans concerning Eddie is at times frustrating. Eddie likes a certain band, he hangs out with certain celebs - Oh - I like them too because he does! They have the EV stamp of approval. How do any of us know we'd even like Eddie if we really had the opportunity to become his friend? I respect his song writing talents and musicianship, HE even agrees with the majority of MY political views - but that doesn't mean he'd do it for me as a friend. Now, the man is incredibly easy on the eyes, but that's no basis for a true friendship. Possibly an amazing tawdry affair of the mind - but not a friendship ;)
I wish a guy like Eddie, would like me.

thats a really good point...Not to mention, you could say something negative about most of your favorite bands..no one, or artist, or band is perfect! We're all just tryin' to do our thang. :)

oh scary... 40000 morbidly obese christians wearing fanny packs invading europe is probably the least scariest thing since I watched an edited version of The Care Bears movie in an extremely brightly lit cinema.
