Has anyone ever thought these 2 songs sound really similar?

    They both certainly have the rock anthem sound. People I know who dont really like PJ usually cite this as their main reason of not liking the band- that alot of their tunes are very similar-I for one, just happen to like that sound so it works for me.

    i dont think they sound that much alike. the tempos are different, the opening riffs, i guess could be heard as similar but thats it. i dont consider dissident anthemic at all.


    escape is never, the safest bet.
    i love when ed speaks that at the end live,

    I too will go on record saying I don't see/hear the similarites.

    They are not that similar - unlike Undone and World Wide Suicide!!! - These songs are pretty similar - Same chord progression, same time signature - EXACTLY the same intro! whenever Undone starts playing on my playlist i always think its WWS!!

    i think life wasted is very similar to alive if anything. they dont sound alike at all really, but I always thought life wasted was todays "alive"

    i don't see it either. and life wasted is probably my least favorite on the new album.

    I always thought that "Wasted Reprise" sounds like a slow, soft snippet of "Life Wasted"...

    I also think "Footsteps" is very similar to Temple of the Dog's "Times of Trouble"...
