Matt Bellamy is an AMAZING guitarist! They're all incredible musicians, but like you said you couldn't get into it and I get that, Muse aren't for everybody. I like Radiohead but I never got into them like I got into Muse, the comparison irks me cause I think they're very different. Mostly I blame sloppy journalism for the comparison.
I find Muse's music incredibly addictive, I just can't stop listening to them. Seeing them reproduce that live is just incredible cause they pull it off. It's interesting cause Matt Bellamy is not very enigmatic and rarely, if ever, addresses the crowd (mainly Dom does) but it doesn't matter cause it's all about that wall of sound, the lights and energy from the crowd going bonkers.
yeah and also how many albums does Muse have? it's gotta be over 1/2 a dozen, i've only heard a very tiny fraction of their work so i know i'm not in a position to judge any of their musical talentdon't compete; coexist
what are you but my reflection? who am i to judge or strike you down?

I have tickets to their Chicago show in March. Anyone else on here going to be there? It will be my 1st Muse show, and I'm really looking forward to it!0

I had 2 Muse albums for 3 years before I got it. Now I play their stuff more than anyone elses. I'm not sure I get the comparison with Queen. There is one song that does sound like them but as I hated Queen I can't see the comparison.0

I won't be in Chicago, but my first Muse show was in Chicago (Lolla '07), so enjoy! I'm seeing them at MSG and in Philly. I'm also going to see them in London in September. YAY!

I pretty much play their stuff more than anyone else too. When I first heard the iTunes snippets for the new album, I thought it sounded a little Queen inspired, but when I heard the songs in their entirety, my opinion changed. United States of Eurasia is the Queeniest sounding song of theirs and really the only one I think deserves the comparison (which I assume is the song you're referring to, no?), but they are certainly not Queen, they definitely put their own spin on things.Glaciers melting in the dead of night and the superstars sucked into the supermassive.0 -

I like this band, but the way Matt Bellamy oversings everything gets kind of annoying after a while...0

If anyone winds up with a extra pair (together) for the Garden show on 3/5, PLEASE drop me a line. Not picky with location other than needing to be in front of the stage (as Ticketmaster shows "LIMITED VIEW!! CANNOT SEE OPENING ACT!!" for behind stage seating). Thanks!0

Yikes, I'll keep you posted. I have front section GA, but it was hard to get. The pre-sale was beserk!Glaciers melting in the dead of night and the superstars sucked into the supermassive.0
