see, i think that's why she thought it was about a dog.

That's what he said in an interview I heard on the radio. He runs at butterflies but he don't know, so he chases them away. Looks at the paper but don't know how to read. Lays his head on concrete. Do some fans romanticize with the lyrics?

Well, a lotta people on here say that the lyrics mean whatever you want them to... :) But I don't see many dogs in "legal halls of shame". (Somebody will say that they're seeing eye dogs...)

Sounds like your friend is going by the only intelligible lyrics if you don't look 'em up!

This next song is about a guy, ah, he's name is Ben actually, in Seattle we used to see him when we'd go down to practice, he didn't have a home, we'd give him money and ah, he'd smile a toothless smile in appreciation, and I still think of him every time we play this

The lyrics are "Thoughts arrive like butterflies, so he chases them away" "Rests his head on a pillow made of concrete"

Seems pretty absurd for it to be about a dog for me  but I suppose whatever floats her boat ;)
