Behind My Eyes

If you could see behind my eyes
You would see the disappointment and frustration
There are few I trust and even less I like
I don’t embrace or welcome empty compliments
There is no need to appear as my friend
I can get by on very little
I’d rather be alone than in the company of betrayal
If you find it necessary to attack my character
Then do me the courtesy of being in my presence
I can face my accusers and instill my thoughts
Perhaps they were not as perfect as they thought!

    No offense, but is that prose? Or a text from a jilted (one night stand type'a) lover?

    I mean.. it could be either or I guess.

    Happy New Year as well.
    It is about having quality people in our lives rather than a large quantity who are insincere. Being alone is not something to fear. And yes a few true friends and family who recipricate with love, trust, shared experiences and loyalty are all I need in this world. I feel if someone has an issue talk with the that individual directly. Talking behind someones back continues to perpetuate misunderstanding and is counter productive to growth and understanding. It is about reaching a level of maturinty where I feel I have the strength to be honest with myself and others unconditionally . We all have our faults. Life for me is about trying to be a better person every day and realize no matter how much I learn in this lifetime I will still die knowing very little.
