The only album I have so far is 'To Terrapin, Live In Hartford '77. I was really impressed by how great they were as a live band. I'm aware they got tons of live recordings out there. What would be some good albums for a beginner listener? Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks!

  • Workingman's Dead.

After that, anything from the Warner Bros. Years is classic.

When you get those down and get into the live shows, there are sick, sick, jams for each incarnation of the band. I am partial to any show with a Weather Report Suite or El Paso. I dunno why, but any songs having to do with the American Southwest performed by the dead I can listen to for hours.
