Boston People! NYE-Hotels?
Hey dudes, I'm coming up to Boston for New Years Eve. Very excited to see the city and party with you guys!
Does anyone have any suggestions for an affordable hotel (<$150) in a good area for my girlfriend and me? I know we won't find anything in Boston exactly but if you could suggest a nice town/or place to stay/see outside the city, that would be really helpfull.
It's her first time and my first time in years so I really don't know the area at all. Any help would be great!
Thanks!

For less than $150 at a Boston hotel on NYE? Good luck buddy. Doubt you'd find anything under $200 on NYE. Oh and Route 1 Saugus is not Boston. Hope you find something because Beantown is a fantastic NYE destination."FF, I've heard the droning about the Sawx being the baby dolls. You would have a better shot at a cheaper hotel outside of the city and then take the T into town.He who forgets will be destined to remember.

I'd suggest using Priceline. Pick the neighborhoods you're willing to stay in and start naming prices. Start low, you might get lucky.
I'm staying that the Westin Copley Place for $129 a night from the Dec 31 til Jan 2, but I booked a while ago :?0 -

Actually, this was more of a plan than I had even intended. Our original plan was to get in the car, drive until about 11 and party wherever we ended up.
So yeah, thanks for the comment, but I'm well aware of what I'm intending to do.
Also, I don't care if I'm in downtown Boston. I know that's not possible. I don't even care if I'm 10 miles away. A nice town on the outskirts would be perfect. Then we can drive to Boston proper the next day.
With that in mind...any other suggestions?
Thanks again!0 -
econolodge in somerville is 2 mins from boston downtown. Best bet is to take the T into downtown crossing or theatre district.
city's outside of boston are: somerville, medford, saugus, cambridge, everettIn my lifetime, I have conquered the Multiverse by force of trUth.0 -

Don't go for Boston proper. The city's so small that if you stay on the outskirts you can be downtown in ten minutes.
Neighborhoods to look into: Somerville, Cambridge (but probably expensive), Brookline, Jamaica Plain.
Neighborhoods to avoid: Mattapan, Roxbury, and Dorchester.
My suggestion: The la quinta inn in somerville2006- Boston I
2008- Boston I+II
2009- Toronto, Philly III+IV
2010- Bristow, Hartford, Boston, Newark0 -
