Why didn't Boom play @ VH1 Rock Honors?

I'm not too familiar with what Brendan O'Brien looks like but I assume that was him on ROM. Why no Boom? I know they're recording with BOB and he's evening playing on a couple of tunes on the new record... But I think it would have been cool for people who think PJ broke up 10 years ago to see some hairy 60 year old Hawaiian banging the ivory!

    I like Boom but he would have totally fucked up the intro to LROM.
