the one time i wanted to go trick or treating because some kids from school decided to try it i wasn't allowed because my parents said it's not a nz tradition and it's basically begging.

    ha.

i tagged along to a couple of houses with my dog and no one gave them anything.

I can't believe some people missed this so they could go trick or treating with their kids.....get your fucking priorities straight!?!

Bet they're fucking kicking themselves now!

You don't have kids do you? Nothing comes before that :)

It's only halloween.......who gives a shit! It's not a birthday or christmas! Maybe because I'm australian I just dont understand the importance of trick or treating.

I'd just buy them a pony or something and get my arse to the gig!

Can we nominate great responses? Because this one folks, is a keeper. Still laughing.
The world is like a ride in an amusement park, and when you choose to go on it you think it's real because that's how powerful our minds are. The ride goes up and down, around and around, it has thrills and chills, and it's very brightly colored, and it's very loud, and it's fun for a while. Many people have been on the ride a long time, and they begin to wonder, "Hey, is this real, or is this just a ride?" And other people have remembered, and they come back to us and say, "Hey, don't worry; don't be afraid, ever. Because this is just a ride." And we...kill those people. "Shut him up! I've got a lot invested in this ride, shut him up! Look at my furrows of worry, look at my big bank account, and my family. This has to be real." It's just a ride. But we always kill the good guys who try and tell us that, you ever notice that? And let the demons run amok? But it doesn't matter, because it's just a ride. And we can change it any time we want. It's only a choice. No effort, no work, no job, no savings of money. Just a simple choice, right now, between fear and love. The eyes of fear want you to put bigger locks on your doors, buy guns, close yourself off. The eyes of love instead see all of us as one. Here's what we can do to change the world, right now, to a better ride. Take all that money we spend on weapons and defenses each year and instead spend it feeding and clothing and educating the poor of the world, which it would pay for many times over, not one human being excluded, and we could explore space, together, both inner and outer, forever, in peace.

Yeah, I understand that -- I'm not totally heartless....but are you saying you wouldn't palm her off to a friend or a grandparent to take her trick or treating and you go see Pearl Jam? I would. I wouldn't go if they had to stay home and miss out totally.....but if I could get around it, i'd be off to Pearl Jam no doubt about it.

What if your child is crying because he/she wants to go trick or treating with you...not grammy or an uncle..but you?

Honestly....this isn't the forum for you to stick out your dicks and measure up who's a better parent or dad, or what ever. This is about the Philly show.

I am having trouble leaving this`one alone, but probably for the best given my track record tonight. :P

It was funny. I love message boards when people just let it fly.

Maybe it's because it's now 4.20am, maybe it's the rum but I am laughing my ass off at some of these posts!

  • Get a life?

haha, miss crucial times in a childs life.

I have a 3 year old, and I would have went to Philly night 4 in a heartbeat. It's friggin trick or treatin'

3 year old as well, but due to work and horrific traffic when halloween falls on a weekday. I barely make it home in time for any of it. I would have loved to have gone tonight as well, but the early stages of your child's life go by WAY too fast. Enjoy every minute of it and buy the bootleg.
I'll scream my lungs out until I fill this thread.
