LA-3 Bootleg CD Sound Quality

It is understandable why bootlegs can have questionable sound quality. When you have multiple shows, quick turnaround, various circumstances with the sound mix, arena issues, etc., it can be quite variable. Generally speaking, 2000 was worse, 2003 was better, 2005 was bad but not in the way it was bad in 2000, 2006 was good.
I have Austin 2009 and found Mike mixed low and the low bass so dominating, I was afraid my speakers and eardrums would blow.
So along comes LA-3. Oh my! The mix was so perfect. This sounds like the times when a band released only one live album, so they spend a ton of time with the mixing and sound. I don't know what the case was but LA-3 simply has the most amazing sound quality. The mix was amazing, the whole listening experience was amazing from an audio perspective. The band's berformance and intensity made it that much better. But whatever, I can't get over the sound quality and how this one stands out amongst the other boots that have been released in the past.

Up here so high I start to shake, Up here so high the sky I scrape, I've no fear but for falling down, So look out below I am falling now, Falling down,...not staying down, Could’ve held me up, rather tear me down, Drown in the river

Really? I think that the 2000 US bootlegs are by far the best of any Pearl Jam has released.

Amazing sound! I like the slower songs too. I think Faithful sounds so incredible. At the show during Just Breathe, I was next to a 400 lb walrus who sang like a bear with his testicles being tased. He was "moaning" the song at the same volume as Ed! So having this boot lets me listen to Just Breathe in peace and serenity, and over time will erase the scar tissue which to this date, plagues my ears and brain.
Me too! The drums sound great on the 2000 set. Vocals up front, nice clean mix.... Katowice comes to mind.
The boots shows I've heard from this year (ACL, LA 3 & 4) all sound really good and I just pray that Philly comes across just as good because I'll be buying all four of those shows

I couldn't disagree more. I love the string quartet on Just Breathe and The End. The strings add a lot to the songs IMO. I wonder if the philly string quartet will assist on Parting Ways in Philly this week?
I think the 2003 are a little bit better...but the performances from 2000 waaay better
-my dad after hearing Not for You for the first time on SNL .
Maybe, 2005 is sucky sucky too.
no way. in order of bad sound. 2000, 2005, 2006. best sound IMO, 2003 (tops) 2009, 2008.
Exactly my experience. The USA 2000 shows are muddy, no bass, not great sound quality. You can't hear the separation of the instruments. The Europe 2000 shows were clearer and better than the USA shows. You had to max the volume to get it to play moderately loud.
2005 was the worst. I went to some of those shows (South America - São Paulo) and the bootlegs don't make justice to the public and they are low quality mp3 (192 kbps).
2000, 2003 and 2009 bootlegs have he best sound.
It's growing up just like me.
Anyone who thinks otherwise has beans in their ears.
Well then, I guess I and a few others have beans in our ears. That's cool. At least we'll always have an emergency meal nearby.
