Tom Tomorrow:
About those postersIn response to a number of questions, yes I did a series of four posters for the Philly shows this week which will form one large scene when placed next to each other (though with gaps left in the images between each poster so they don’t have to be jammed right up against each other to look right, if that makes sense).
Since these were for a series of shows the week of Halloween, my idea was to have a giant retro pop-culture costume-party theme — superheroes, robots, space people, monsters, etc., along with a number of band-related/requested “cameos” in the background, all (at least in my mind’s eye) comprising the audience to the last shows at the Spectrum.
The trick was to design four posters which would each stand alone, would work as a larger image when the full set was displayed together, and would work when displayed in sets of two or three. I knew that some people would be attending all four shows and I wanted to create something special for them, but I didn’t want anyone who could only attend one or two shows feeling that they “had” to get the entire set.
As for questions about a signed and numbered edition of the set — definitely not until after the New Year. I’m still recuperating from the Chicago poster sale.
Also: apparently the images are also being used on shirts. Last night was the first I’d heard about that. I guess you can form a larger image with those as well, if you get three other friends together and each wear a different night’s shirt

Pretty cool, now I have to get the whole set. haha.0
-
How hard was it to get the poster last night? Were there plenty or did they run out very quickly?0
-
there were still some after the show. I was amazed...-one thing to remember, always have a good time, all the time0
-
Just like the Kiss solo albums back in 1978.
I think I still have the 4 posters.380 -
sounds very cool, but for me...i'm a wee bit disappointed. or i should say - i may be. i have no intention of buying posters for the shows i've not attended, 10.27 and 10.28...so i sincerely hope that while they make one cohesive image, that they also work well all on their own. *fingers crossed*
edit - ok, i take it all back...:D

definitely works on it's own - cool - i am happy!

That won't be the case anymore. Now that people know that each of these is part of a complete set they will snatch them up, even if they don't necessarily like the individual posters. I doubt there will be any left after the shows from here on out.5/28/06 - Camden, NJ

They were selling them at merch booths and at program stations. Plenty to go around.0

Does this mean that if we purchased a poster through the 10c presale...it will be the Tom Tomorrow poster? I only bought the 10-31 poster via presale...but I'm attending 10-30 as well. Wich I could get my hands on posters from 1&2 so I could make a giant mural on my wall.Saratoga, NY 8.27.00, Boston, MA 9.29.04, Denver, CO 7.2.06 (with Tom Petty), The Spectrum 10.30.09, The Spectrum 10.31.09, Buffalo, NY 5.10.10, Newark, NJ 5.18.10, New York, NY 6.21.11 (EV Solo), Toronto, ON 9.11.11 (Neil Young Appearance!), Hamilton, ON 9.15.11, Fenway Park 8.5.160

Just so you know, Night 1 they gave out poster tubes with the posters. Although they had significantly more posters than tubes-- first come first served. By the way, there were GIANT PILES of posters at the merch booths as well as the program stands. There were probably 6 or 7 different stands with a good 200-400 posters each. If you're buying these for rarity/resale value, I wouldn't bother9-28-96 Randall’s Island NY; 9-01-00 Camden NJ; 7-05-03 Camden NJ; 10-01-04 Reading PA; 10-03-05 Philly PA; 5-27-06 Camden NJ; 5-28-06 Camden NJ; 6-19-08 Camden NJ; 6-20-08 Camden NJ; 6-24-08 NYC NY; 8-7-08 EV Newark, NJ; 6-11-09 EV Philly PA; 6-12-09 EV Philly PA; 10-27-09 Philly PA; 10-28-09 Philly PA; 10-30-09 Philly PA; 10-31-09 Philly PA; 5-15-10 Hartford CT; 5-18-10 Newark NJ; 5-21-10 NYC NY; 6-21-11 EV NYC NY; 6-22-11 EV NYC NY; 6-25-11 EV Philly PA; 7-1-11 EV StL MS; 9-3-11 E Troy WI; 9-4-11 E Troy WI0

Well, it does seem they have REALLY increased the number of posters being made ... ever since Ed's solo tour last year, the numbers have really climbed."You're one of the few Red Sox fans I don't mind." - Newch91
"I don't believe in damn curses. Wake up the damn Bambino and have me face him. Maybe I'll drill him in the ass." --- Pedro Martinez0 -
thank god they increased the print runs to put an end to $100 posters being on ebay before the show even ends...
there were TONS of posters to go around... i saw people with tubes, are they providing them now?0 -
kinda sucks that tomorrow's doing all 4. i was hoping for something truly special and unique for the halloween show, not a continuation of the other 39-28-96 Randall’s Island NY; 9-01-00 Camden NJ; 7-05-03 Camden NJ; 10-01-04 Reading PA; 10-03-05 Philly PA; 5-27-06 Camden NJ; 5-28-06 Camden NJ; 6-19-08 Camden NJ; 6-20-08 Camden NJ; 6-24-08 NYC NY; 8-7-08 EV Newark, NJ; 6-11-09 EV Philly PA; 6-12-09 EV Philly PA; 10-27-09 Philly PA; 10-28-09 Philly PA; 10-30-09 Philly PA; 10-31-09 Philly PA; 5-15-10 Hartford CT; 5-18-10 Newark NJ; 5-21-10 NYC NY; 6-21-11 EV NYC NY; 6-22-11 EV NYC NY; 6-25-11 EV Philly PA; 7-1-11 EV StL MS; 9-3-11 E Troy WI; 9-4-11 E Troy WI0

I love the 4 Poster idea. You never know, there could be a second poster at a show. It happened in Seattle this year.0

of PEARL JAM - WORLD CAFE LIVE PHILLY JUNE 19th 7pm0 -
If anyone pre-ordered the Philly 10/31 print and doesn't want it now that they know it's a Tom Tomorrow print please PM me. I always buy a print to shows I go to and I'd rather acquire one through the forums before I leave for Philly then try to get one at the show and protect it for the night.
thanks
