ticket question

how is it possible that ticket brokers, for instance stubhub, already have tickets on sale? i was under the impression they haven't gone on sale to the general public yet. . .
i have wished for so long, how i wish for you today

    many reasons, up to and including:

    1. season ticket holders have rights to buy tickets in many venues
    2. Brokers have deals with many venues to get tickets
    3. Brokers sell the tickets without having them and then source them later
    4. There is a chance that some ten club tickets are being sold there, but I hope not.
    There's Pearl Jam, The Rolling Stones, Chuck Berry, Robert Johnson......and then everybody else.

    They are selling tickets based on what they think they wikll have - they aren't posting actual seat locations or anything, right?

    Lollapalooza 8/5/07
    Madison Square Garden 6/24/08 and 6/25/08

    The only way I can think of is season tickets. I'm not sure how that works, but that's all I can think of.

    yes they are. . .somebody's gonna have to explain to me what these brokers do for these venues that they get the right to tickets and then charge whatever they want for them

    Yeah, I see that now. And there are no season tickets to Mansfield - that really sucks, how can they have seat locations????

    They have corporate boxes, but there are not season lawn tickets, or season tickets in the outer seating areas......
