A most beautiful performance of this song is the unplugged version in the movie Duets at the very end by Andre Braugher- gave me new respect for the song and lyrics

There's a wonderful club called The Free Bird Cafe in Jacksonville Beach FL run by the former wife of Van Zant, Judy Van Zant. A very cool lady who gave be a beer back stage after she found out I was on the road 13 hours trying to find her very nice two level place. Lynard Skynard Hall Of Fame Inductees of 2006.
