Someone refresh my memory I am still trying to block out the memory. Ed doing a duet with some Neil Diamond impersonator?.

I gotta vote for Shoe the SHoeless as #1

The Neil Diamond song was at the first Milwaukee show. Eddie teamed up with Thunder and Lightning to do "Forever in Blue Jeans." I thought it was pretty good actually, not bizarre at all.

Ann Arbor 94, ed opened the show sitting cross-legged on stage, burned the cork of a wine bottle, and gave himself raccoon eyes with the charred wine cork. Quite peculiar.

  • I was at the 1998 show in the Portland Rose Garden.

This was shortly before the Do The Evolution video was released. So when they played Do The Evolution, they raised a screen and broadcast a little mini-movie that was similar in animation, but was not the music video as we'd come to know it. Ed said something about "We're going to try a little experiment here."

I think it was the first and last time Pearl Jam ever played live with a video running behind them. It didn't go off without a hitch. The band finished the song before the video was done, then it clicked off and the screen went blue. It seemed to me like this was an earlier version of the Do The Evolution video because what they released was similar but different. And we all know that the live version of the song is much faster than the studio version.

    Anyone else remember this?

I guess we are talking about events that occurred other than Roskilde? Cause I dont think anything can or will be more bizzarre.....unfortunately.

That wasn;t bizarre that was a tragedy that could have been avoided if people would have respected each other and taken care of each other

I definitely remember this! Not in the same great detail that you did about it ending early, but certainly the fact that it was Todd Macfarlane images being played behind them.

  • a bit strange-the guy walking around lolla pearl jam crowd with brown joe dirt hair (not just an old mullet but really extreme joe dirt style), i thought it was pretty funny -pointed it out to the kids, next thing i knew "joe dirt" was up on the big screen, jam crew must have gotten a look at him too, whole crowd cheered.

"This could be actions of fans or the audience that was wierd or odd"

A "Go Leafs Go" chant was started at the Toronto '05 concert. As far as I was concerned, that was kind of odd, so I started my own loud, drunken, one-man "Go Sens Go" chant that got the attention of my entire section. The Make Beleafs haven't made the playoffs since.

I went to a show this weekend in Ventura (I promised my sister I would go with her). The show ended up being in the same Theatre that Pearl Jam filmed the ALIVE video in.........I just stool and stared at the ceiling and walls for most of the show I was at Saturday..........just imagining PJ in there :)

No one else seems to remember this, but at San Jose 95 (the make up show for SF) while waiting in the queue out front, 1000's of fans began throwing anything and everything they could get their hands on into the air. food, drink, shirts, etc. The worst was some guy who took a piss in a gatorade bottle and then threw that into the air. My friend and I just stood in disbelief wondering what caused this spontaneous act of craziness. Keep in mind this was around 10a.m. so the majority of the crowd should have still been sober.
