My friends Target Ad Story

So I'm from Olympia WA just south of Seattle. About a month or so ago a friend of mine responded to an ad in a weekly newsletter that was seeking people to be in a commercial with a famous rock band. You just had to go to Seattle, audition, and if you got picked they paid you a $100.00 and free drinks\food for 8 hours. So she ends up getting picked and they tell her that many people would PAY $100.00 for this chance to be with this band. They just needed her to sign the contract. I mention the contract because I thought It is weird that Target included the stipulation that "Target will own your image and can use it anywhere in the UNIVERSE(!?) for INFINITY(!)" No joke that was what it said. Also, she wasnt supposed to tell anyone till after the commercial came out. So she goes into a studio room and which band was waiting there????? Why Pearl Jam of course!!!! I hate her for this because she actually doesn't like Pearl Jam, and wasn't even that jazzed that she got to hang with the coolest band for 8 hours!!! I wish they had only allowed Ten club members in the commercial, I mean at least have some real fans in the background instead of actors. Although the more I think of it most real fans would be too distracted by it all for any work to get done! Ha! Anyway, to my friend who hung with PJ for 8 hours and doesnt even care, YOU SUCK and I'm forever jealous of something you toss aside!!! Oh and next time please get autographs of your friends FAVORITE band please when you spend 8 hours with them!!!
PS She said Eddie was super cool in person

Gees seems like you have MY kind of luck that happened to me in SD once several years back my friend knew one of the Road crew for them and as I'm sitting by the back hoping ot catch a glimpse of any of the band members she just waltz's right in and asks me to watch her beer.. I was so mad at her I drank it all she didn't even get me ANY autographs nothing so I sat outside and drank her twelve pack... she was pissed but not as pissed as me..0

Similar thing happened to me in 2001...
I had been living in Vegas for a couple of years at the time, and had previously live in San Diego for 4 years. I had planned on driving down to San Diego for a Wellwater Conspiracy show from Vegas, 'cause I thought there's a chance Ed might show up. When I find out they were doing a free show the next night in Vegas, I thought "Well, since they're coming here, I'll save the expense and just see them here." Turned out that one of my friends/co-workers from San Diego was a promoter and manager for the opening band. Sure enough Ed showed up, and my friend and his band got to hang out with them for a bit. I hadn't spoken to him in over a year, but he was cool enough to remember that I was a PJ fan, and he ended up sending me a personalized autograph from Ed and some photos. The next night in Vegas ended up being awesome though, 'cause I got to meet Matt and talk drumming for a bit. I eve helped 'em load up their van afterward!
