    no, not really.
and this in no way diminshes pj fans or pj.
we're fans of a rock band. a GREAt rock band, but a rock band none the less. there is nothing unique about that. even going all over when they tour = not unique. loving their music/indentifying with the music = not unique. yea, yea, yea.....we're all special snowflakes.....just like everybody else. ;)

that said, i LOVE this band, i LOVE their music, their lyrics....touring....and many, many of their fans. this is a community i want to be a part of, which is unique for me b/c i am not much of a joiner otherwise...but in all other senses, we're none too different from other people with dedicated passions. we don't need to be *unique* or *special* to just LOVE being a part of all *this*.......

    have a GREAT weekend all!

agreed, PJ Fans are unique, generous, and the Best people I have ever met. The band is increadable in every sense.

Anyone find humor in this perfectly misspelled word? Well done, albeit not intentionally I'm sure...
Bright eyed kid: "Wow Typo Man, you're the best!"
Typo Man: "Thanks kidz, but remembir, stay in skool!"

:D:D so you do know what We are talking about, you just admitted it. Ha! You are a unique fan :lol:
  • Pearl Jam rocks. We rock. We all know the feelings we get from their music and lyrics.

I'm lucky enough to have an awesome girlfriend who loves PJ to bits, almost as much as I do *ahem cough cough* ... and those moments we share, playing a song or an album on repeat all night, in the dim glow of a candle-lit room, guitars in hand, trying to decipher lyrics like each and every single word has a hidden chain of meanings... it's just the greatest. Whether it's singing alone in bed at night, humming to myself in the shower, or screaming at the top of my lungs in my car - I owe these emotions to Pearl Jam. Cheers guy, you complete me. How cliche. Heh.
This is, this is ... my ... last exit.

I think this quote by Jerry Garcia sums up PJ fans too :D

"Our audience is like people who like licorice. Not everybody likes licorice, but the people who like licorice really like licorice"
  • It is rare beauty in life when you can find such a deep feeling of connection to something part of a greater divine. The music taps us into an energy and gift that draws us all out of our respective silos. I survived breast cancer and chemo and grew up on their music. When people would say go to a happy place..the music is where I went. Where I will always go. It is level of greater connectivity and a vibration that taps us into our soul's most transcendant depths. Namaste.
  • Definitely hear ya on that. I love music, but listening to PJ is like falling into the 'real' music. I was reading through some of the replies to your post and it felt good to know there are other people that know and feel good music when they hear it. I believe one of the real separators is how a band is when they're live. Ten came out my first year in college and I was fortunate enough to see them live about 5 years later. Seeing them live changed my whole idea of music. They were unbelievable. Now I'm a PJ junky. To me there is no other band that even compares. They are in their own class. Funny thing is just saw them again live and it seems they're getting better. I love Eddie's comarade with the crowd, everyone in the whole band are amazing performers. I sometimes wonder "What if there was no Pearl Jam?" Then stop thinking that and throw in some tunes. Love ya PJ!
    Never was for you
