damn, sorry about that. ouch. :?
however, i see i too am getting old(alright, yes...i am old...especially around here!) but i actually have to echo your 'sensible/old' thoughts. i would strongly suggest holding the $$$. i agree, when you are younger, less esponsibilites, etc...so much easier to just take off. idk your situation, but sounds like you have a wife....any kids?....mortgage?.....with the current economy ad tight job market, it really would be wise. and hey, if you DO get a job a lot quicker than expected, hell yes....you can STILL go to oz! sure, maybe not for a pj tour, maybe in 6-12 months, but you'd still get there! and if it takes you a long while, you'll be thankful to have that cash cushion.
(and DAMN, a year's salary severance package? NICE!)
seriously tho, if you weren't planning/didn't have the funds for oz before being laid off, i would strongly urge you to think long and hard about it...
and yes, my entire post is just an excellent example of 'you know you're getting old when....'
no matter your decision, good luck!Stay with me...

Didn't Rod Stewart put out some garbage with that title?0 -
When you find that you can't "sleep in" on weekends anymore. Not because you don't want to, but because your body is so conditioned to waking up at the crack of dawn that you just physically can't do it :(

Alphaville - Forever Young
Let's dance in style, lets dance for a while
Heaven can wait we're only watching the skies
Hoping for the best but expecting the worst
Are you going to drop the bomb or not?
Let us die young or let us live forever
We don't have the power but we never say never
Sitting in a sandpit, life is a short trip
The music's for the sad men
Can you imagine when this race is won
Turn our golden faces into the sun
Praising our leaders we're getting in tune
The music's played by the madman
Forever young, i want to be forever young
Do you really want to live forever, forever forever
Forever young, i want to be forever young
Do you really want to live forever
Forever young
Some are like water, some are like the heat
Some are a melody and some are the beat
Sooner or later they all will be gone
Why don't they stay young
It's so hard to get old without a cause
I don't want to perish like a fading horse
Youth is like diamonds in the sun
And diamonds are forever
So many adventures couldn't happen today
So many songs we forgot to play
So many dreams are swinging out of the blue
We let them come true
Forever young, i want to be forever young
Do you really want to live forever, forever forever
Forever young, i want to be forever young
Do you really want to live forever forever forever
Forever young, i want to be forever young
Do you really want to live forever, forever forever
Forever young, i want to be foreverStay with me...

yeah i have to admit that would suck. i find my natural rhythm wakes me around 4am but only enough for me to note that it is around 4am and that woohoo!!! ive still got hours til i need to get out of bed. my bedroom is the darkest room in the house so that helps as does depression. im tired but its more mental tiredness than physical tiredness.hear my name
