They both have a soul-searching theme and an introspective depth. All or None is Stone's song and Inside Job is Mike's. I prefer All or None by a slight margin because I like how it remains bleak throughout while Inside Job crescendos with positivity...

  • all or none... definitely... i dont understand what people see in inside job... terrible lyrics and pretty blah music compared to the rest of PJ's work... i guess the new album never really grew on me though

lyric writing isn't mike's strong suit

Inside Job. No question about it. It's direct, personal, soul searching, beautiful moody intro and climax.

    Inside Job.
  • I prefer All or None but Inside Job is still a good song.

    Lyrically they're both great, IMO..
Musically there's no comparison: all or none is better
but inside job is still a good song, the part where ed sings "how I choose to feel is how I am" is.. simply beatiful, there's no words to describe it

Inside Job is more emotional to me....err....it brings out more emotion in me, so therefore I think it is a better song. I guess I must relate to it on a deeper level than All or None.

  • inside job gets my vote

    Underneath this smile lies everything
All my hopes and anger, pride and shame

I make myself a pact, not to shut doors on the past
Just for today I am free

I will not lose my faith
    It's an inside job today
I know this one thing well

I used to try and kill love. the highest sin
    Breathing insecurity out and in

Searching hope, I'm shown the way to run straight
Pursuing the greater way for all human light

How I choose to feel is how I am
How I choose to feel is how I am

I will not lose my faith
    It's an inside job today

Holding on, the light of night
On my knees to rise and fix my broken soul
    Again

Let me run into the rain
To be a human light again

Let me run into the rain
To shine a human light today

Life comes from within your heart and desire
Life comes from within my heart and desire
Life comes from within your heart and desire
  • All or none is the better song.....should be considered one of their elite songs.

I'm not big on the first two verses of Inside Job (lyrically and Ed's vocals).........but once it kicks into gear, it's pretty good from there on out.
  • In my opinion, All or None is one of the best PJ songs. The raw emotion in it is powerful. I also like Inside Job, but I'd take All or None without hesitation.
    One man stands alone awaiting
    for her to come home
    eyes upon the horizon
    in the dark before the
    darkness leaves the dawn
  • I like Inside Job a lot so I'm going with that.

Who would be trying to achieve a hopeless situation? It's tragically good lyrics by Stone and it's not that out of place to say it should have been sung by Stone. Then it would have been on Bayleaf, I guess. But Mike's solo at the end sounds great, so it's gotta be a PJ song.
  • I like Inside Job way better. Aside from having virtually the same guitar intro as Gone, it's fantastic. All or None is good, but doesn't really go anywhere aside from Eddie singing the last verse in a higher vocal range.

    Inside Job is great.

All or none. It's more emotional. Hits me harder. Especially > To myself I surrender, to the one I'll never please.
The worst enemies of music? Money and Mathematics. Combined with music, they both do the exact opposite of what they're supposed to do. Money makes music cheap, mathematics makes it stupid and predictable.

all or none for me... it's more of a "pearl jam" song
Further back and forth a wave will break on me, today...
  • Inside Job! Great lyrics along with a great song, would love to hear it live.
