You can inventory your collection, keep track of those you're interested in or just keep up with what's new to the poster and art print scene. I started out collecting just PJ posters. but thru EB, I've expanded my horizons for art prints and other poster artists.

yep.....and i recently discovered a hendrix poster that i bought back in 1988...when i first found it, the recent sales were $4000 :eek: then i realized that was for a first edition....i have a 3rd edition which isn't worth much but i realized this poster was my beginning of my poster collecting....just a 20 break i between

Ebeans is the dealer to my addiction. I casually collected posters for years, never really thinking of value, just happy to have mementos of shows and also some great art. Then someone here on the porch mentioned EBeans, I checked it out, and now I have about 110 posters with only about 30 of them framed. That doesn't count the dozen or so I've traded to get two or three elusive prints. I am a true addict.

EBeans lets me manage my collection, see who's got interesting stuff to sell/trade, turned me on to new artists and the forums clue me in as to when new work goes on sale at artists' sites. It can get a bit juvenile at times as with any message boards, but there are a lot of great people who really appreciate art and/or music.

depends on the poster....for my la2 '06 i went all out....god wood frame, double mat.....i think it ran me 300-350

for the posters i dropped off yesterday....very simple....metal frame, single mat, uv glass, acid free....for $118 each

Thanks for sharing. The nearest Hobby Lobby is like 3 hours away, so that's out. I did go for a wood frame on the poster I framed for $311, so maybe I'll switch to metal on some of them. I think the museum glass was worth it for the anti-reflective aspect...that was $91 of the cost, I think. Before I got it framed at Ben Franklin, I tried Michael's, but they couldn't match the color I wanted for the mat. The guy at BF ended up being really great and spending a long time talking it out with me. He even sent a signed thank-you note after I picked it up, so now I can go to him again if I want. They also have a frequent framer's card, where you get a gift card after spending a certain amount.

I think if I went in trying to save money, I would probably still end up going for exactly what I wanted regardless of cost. I might compare some online custom frame places and think about framing some myself.

Luckily I'm not planning on becoming a big collector! Just the shows I went to.

The posters look amazing. I love yours especially cutback. I could never afford paying that much for one of my posters. That said though, I will be getting a GR 06 soon [Thanks to Zanne! Great person ] anyone have any interesting looks/feels to theirs?

If it's ok with you and him, can you post examples that he's done for you and how much they cost? I was really impressed by his work but figured it would cost a lot more than a chain. I'd love to support a little guy instead if it's not going to break me.
