Is female 'hair down there' a thing of the past?

I was talking to my 18 year old niece and I asked "do you wax or shave your bikini line" and she said:

"Ewww, I don't just do my bikini line...I do the whole thing...NO ONE has pubic hair anymore...that's disgusting...EVERYONE I know goes brazilian!!"

I was a bit shocked at how absolutely negative she was towards pubic hair.

Do you think pubic hair on females will eventually become non-existant like underarm hair? Or is this a passing fad? Most porn has no hair nowadays (not that I watch it myself :? ;) ). I myself generally do the lot...because it's just easier and feels better...not because "it's disgusting". Her negativity towards hair really spun me out.

Maybe the norm in the not too distant future will be for females bodies to be completely hairless?

speaking as a woman, the idea of having no hair whatsoever down there seems just.. weird. I don't need to feel like a pre-teenager again.

i think women in general have the wrong idea here. it's not that men want to be with a pre-teen ... not most normal men, anyway ... it's just that the vagina is already an unknown mystery world ... covering it with hair just makes it all the more daunting.

it's like those old time maps ... when the drawer didn't know what laid beyond a certain point, they would always write, "Here be beasties" .... thats what I think when I see a the jungle look ...

    "Here be Beasties."

fair enough. to be honest, I didn't think men like no-hair cause of the pre-teen thing. it's more about how I feel. haha.

the mentioned 'landing strip' doesn't cover that much, now does it? not the strategic parts anyway.

And my question is --- why cover?

But answering that will probably take this thread WAY off topic.......
