Cool Story tied to a Sad One

This is a bit hard to explain....

My aunt was found dead in her home on Friday. This wasn't a huge shocker for my family as we always kind of expected it. She had a lot of health issues.

That's the sad part, now for the cool part.

So we had to call the cops to come out to the scene. The cop that came out was really cool and got to talking. Somehow the topic of PJ came up and he totally lit up and said, 'you know what? I am best friends with Matt Cameron!'

I couldn't believe it. He said he has known him for years and that his kid and Matt's kid are in school together and really good friends as well. He told me some really funny stories about Matt. Like when they went to Mexico back in 03, Matt was worried about personal safety, so he asked his cop friend for a gun to bring with him, and his cop friend gave him a knife to keep on him while he was down there! That is crazy!

He also told me that Matt mentioned a couple months ago that the band wasn't planning on touring this summer, but he said that could have changed by now. He said the guys are DEFINITELY working on a new record, but Matt hasn't mentioned anything about a potential tour, just that the band wanted to let Ed go do his thing with ITW.

Just thought it was a cool thing to happen in the middle of a sad situation and some of you here might enjoy hearing it.

    I did. He gave me his card just as a matter of routine for the case. Said he would be happy to give me updates once in a while.

    The other thing I forgot to mention is that I told him to tell Matt to get Soundgarden back together for a reunion tour. He said he would mention it to him!
