    Its a really powerful song. I don't believe it's anything about him, just like Unemployable is not about him.

    I think the song is about someone's life, and as he gets close to death from an illness, then finally dies. "the end".

    I don't think I'd read into to it too much. In that promo video Ed mentions how they've "made self-indulgent records before and they'll probably do that the next time."

    I think we'll see the touring slow down some but the band isn't going away any time soon.
    So this life is sacrifice...

    I think it could abstractly be about Ed.

    Why? Cause Eddie might lust for a woman? Scary.

    I can see Ed writing The End just before he left on tour. "Sickness in my bones" I've often heard people who like to travel or move around alot say, "It's in my bones". He also stated that the second verse was written after he received a phone call from a friend.

    By chance, I just ran to Eddie two nights in a row in Chicago and he seemed very healthy ;)

    He did say something at his solo show in philly about being on pain meds. I was there but did not hear everything he was saying at the time so I am not sure in what context it was said

    we should remember not to speculate on the band's personal lives, especially with the stuff that's been said so far.

    I once wrote a song about a man dying, and the song is his message to his child. I am not dying, and I wasn't a father at the time, so don't read too much into it. Especially the person who mentioned the Big C. Jeez. :roll:
