flattening a wavy poster (?)

i was reading some threads on posters and the possibility of putting them in some sort of machine or through a process involving steam/heat that will take slight waves out of it..however no one really provided an answer..can anyone answer or provide some help here?

    How bad are the waves? Is it quite noticeable by looking at it or do you have to hold it up at certain angles to see it? Is it noticeable framed under glass?

    I too have heard of a process but do not know of the exact process, but I have heard it mentioned elsewhere.

    well. i'm not sure. i was looking at buying a san diego 03 S/N poster from ebay and the guy says it was stored rolled.

    that probably just means in a tube... it wont be "wavy" in the sense that most would take the word to mean... like ripples on the actual image... all you have to do is store it under something heavy for awhile... or i generally just put it right from a tube into a frame... should be fine

    Somebody mentions ironing it on the back but others said not to. Best bet is to just put it between two pieces of clean paper and stack a bunch of magazines on it for awhile. Somebody else mentioned taking it to a frame place and placing it in a vacuum table (used for mounting prints on sticky board) but without the sticky board of course.

    if it was stored in a tube,, it shouldn't be a problem. I put mine in tubes and when I gave them to the framer, she just told me she had to put it flat during one week or two...
