I am hearing F, Dm, C, C7 for the verses.

Not sure about the chorus yet. But I think the "nothing left" part is F, D, C, G

    chorus is :

Dm-F-C-G, at least i think it sounds better than staying on the Dm.

that's how i'm hearing it too.
  • I believe he plays it 0-1-2-3-3, 0-1-2-0-3, 0-1-0-2-3, 0-1-3-2-3....then with a variation of a dm on the nothing left part. If you watch him play it live closely he barely transitions and this sounds spot on really. simple progression
  • and if you want me to post a video up of what I am talking about then I will show you. The one's I've seen have been close but not correct I believe. Also, I have figured out the End as well, if anyone wants that video too.

Yeah I don't think it's Dm, F, C,G in the chorus. I think the F is really like a Dm/F where you just play the Dm and the 3rd fret on the G string.

So the chorus could gbe Dm, Dm/F, C, G

I would think learning/or playing a song like Wishlist would help with the muting. Try that one out then come back to this one, may help you out.

As far as chords go, this one's pretty nice and easy though.

  • I don't think it needs a really clean mute.

Just cover the strings (lightly) with the side of your palm near the bridge.

If you can get a copy of Ed playing it solo, I think in DC, on his tour, he basically plays normal all down strums. Sounds good!
