everytime i'm in my car i listen to lithium, i've had my new car since early July and it comes with a free trial of XM radio. for those who don't know, Lithium is the grunge/90's rock channel. I NEVER HEAR A FULL PJ SONG! it's either when i first turn the car on, it's the latter half of a song, or when i'm just about to reach my destination, a PJ song comes on and i reach my destination before it's over. i have only heard one full PJ song while in the car, and it was Last Kiss of all songs (not that it's a bad song, it's just that when you're listening to the radio in a car, the last song you want to hear is one that's about a fatal car accident) and to kick me while i'm down, i had a bunch of friends in the car being loud and having conversation, i couldn't even pay attention to the song.

It's like i'm in Bush era Guantanamo Bay...IT'S TORTURE!

I'm the guy who likes to listen to whole songs...even so much that if i'm listening to a CD in the car and i turn it on and it's in the middle of the song, i have to start the song over....it's my little OCD...but that's besides the point...

ALL I WANNA DO IS LISTEN TO A WHOLE PJ SONG ON LITHIUM!

***UPDATE*** The XM gods must of heard me cause yesterday i got to FINALLY listen to a whole PJ song on Lithium...it was Breath...it was awesome...and i enjoyed it thoroughly...

but then, unfortunately today, i was on my way home, and just as i was about to turn into my street, Crazy Mary comes on. Reached my driveway a few seconds before the last verse so i decided to stick out the rest of the song in my driveway. well worth it....aside from the fact there are no solos, i like the recorded better then the live, never was too big of a fan of this song, but i like it as i hear it more. so i forced my self to listen to the whole song before turning the car off

I listen to lithium all day at work and I think they play a crapload of Pearl Jam. Bush too. I definately agree with that guy.

Last Kiss is a horrible song btw

I listen to Lithium a few times a week and I have heard plenty of PJ songs, you just gotta listen for a little while. It does seem that they have a core group of songs that they play on a loop, way too much in my opinion. I hear Oasis Champagne Supernova, Bush Glycerine, and STP Sex Type Thing way too much on that channel. What I did find surprising recently is that they play the studio version of Crazy Mary. I've heard it twice in the last week. It was actually the first time I heard the studio version, had only heard the live versions. I like it.

I just went to pick my kid up from school and flipped to Lithium:

    ...o-o-o-o-one
    Listless
Breakfast table in an otherwise empty room

    Not a bad jumping-on point.

I agree to I miss Lucy and I also miss Fred and Ethel….Sirius ruined XM.

Although I do like the addition of Howard!

  • i usually hear a lot of sound garden and nirvana on lithium, the good nirvana though, not the over played stuff...there's too much greenday, and a small hint of offspring to kind of give it a modern 21st century aftertaste. think i've only heard bush a few time...i get a lot of cranberries too...i think they do a good job mixing...but the point of this thread was to jokingly say that i think they know when i'm listening because they either don't play PJ, or put it on when i can't hear the whole song...
  • 45 the spectrum has been playing more Pearl Jam recently

Agree with you on Bush. The two bands that immediately came to my mind were Bush and Soundgarden.

Spin the Black Circle is the only song i hear and im not complaining but you barely hear PJ on this channel, all i ever hear is Nirvana and STP everytime i flip it on and Soundgarden with some random 90's one hit wonders thrown in so i feel your pain
