It's a little hypocritical after hearing years of non-Americans on this board blaming Americans for Bush's and his administration's asinine actions. The main reason I remember is we voted Bush into office so we are to blame.
Al-Megrahi release is very upsetting to me because I know someone, just 21 years old, killed in the bombing. I don't understand it at all. Everyone who gets a lifetime sentence dies in prison one way or another. And then to have him come home to a hero's welcome is just another slap in the face.
But then it's not surprising to hear he was released for an oil deal. Oil makes people do stupid things.
haha. that's true0 -

its easy for all americans as i believe by law its not actually allowed in your country... something to do with offal... in the land of the free eh? not even free to eat haggis.... for shame.. for shame
Hmmm.... really?? Looks like I have some research to do. A friend just finished up her Vet degree, 5 years in Glasgow, and she had said if done right, haggis isn't bad.
So we were thinking of celebrating Burns days here, and have some haggis.
I do have an interesting group of friends. hehe0 -

http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/scotland/7198751.stmoh scary... 40000 morbidly obese christians wearing fanny packs invading europe is probably the least scariest thing since I watched an edited version of The Care Bears movie in an extremely brightly lit cinema.0 -
This thread's title reminded me of the "Visit Scotland " Ad campaign on telly....only this is much more up my street!
And good call for the boycott on Telly & Economics!0 -
