my Fixer vinyl skipps :(

anyone else have this problem? it's right in the beginning of the second chorus

"i'm gunna fight[skip]...yeah yeah yeah yeah"

i've had skips before but they've occurred after multiple listens which is probably a speck of dust making the stylus jump groves which i fix by wiping the record clean and then it's fixed again...but i got this on the first listen and i wiped the record clean and it was still there...should i say something to 10c? is this something they would replace for me? i mean i payed 10 bucks for it

    dunno if this is the same but i bought a not for you vinyl off ebay before so its obviously old and that skips on one of my record players.
    on another player it played perfectly fine.
    i think this may be becuase the needle is too heavy or something to do with the record...obviously if it isnt scratched..but i dunno, hope it helps

    put a coin on top of the needle. i use a nickel on my old records that skip and it helps.

    maybe your needle is too sensitive? or maybe old? doesnt track well? usually its a prob with the needle unless you can clearly see damage on the vinyl.

    Coin trick works well : )

    i like to try different coin sizes, usually a penny is good enough - just use some double sided foam tape or poster tack so the coin doesnt drop onto the record!

    coin didn't work...used a nickel...but i don't get a skip on supersonic and i tried anther record, both sides are clean...it's just the fixer and it's in the same exact place...something is making it jump groves...i'm assuming the white vinyl isn't naturally white, maybe the white paint (or whatever they used) clumped in that spot?

    vinyl's still around cause they are collectors items...vinyl's on a comeback for that exact reason...i really only have it as a collector's item, but if i'm going to have a record, why not listen to it? so that's why i'm listening to it.

    The vinyl is white, just ike the vinyl is black. It's the plastic they use that is coloured. It's likely to be your turntable setup. Just try adjusted the tracking force and antiskate.

    That sucks. I arrived back to my house last night from the Chicago show to find my single laying on my doorstep after a torrential(sp?) rain. The vinyl plays fine but the sleeve and cover are warped and the ink has run marks on it. needless to say I am not a happy camper. Complained to the po and they didn't have any answers or excuses. So I ordered another from 10C because I am a weirdo when it comes to my vinyl. Thankfully it wasn't a rare, expensive vinyl.

    aren't they supposed to specially wrap it if they expect rain?

    My vinyl is VERY warped...I can't play more than 5 seconds of the fixer without it skipping and starting over again. I can get through Supersonic but it doesn't sound great. Has anyone else had this problem? Thankfully the good folks at 10C are sending me another one.

    I returned from Chicago to find my single looking more like a taco than a record. I guess to mail man didn't see the 2 inch letters spelling out DO NOT BEND.
