Does anyone remember who it was? Obviously the setlist was based around it?

    I think he said his name was john johnson "a great friend and great family man and a great surfer" dont know if its jack johnsons father, im sure i read somewhere that ed used to surf with jack johnsons father.

    He said Jeff Johnson, which is the name of Jack Johnson's father, and was also a great surfer, as Eddie said last night. Found this Rolling Stone article on Jack Johnson, mentions his surfer father and Eddie's love for Jack Johnson.

    Yeah I agree, but it sounded like he said Jeff Johnson, and he talked about him being a great surfer.

    I had an elementary school principal named Jeff Johnson....or was it Jeff Jackson? Anyway, he died last week....
