I think it was a mistake, they probably used an old template for that email/announcement as far as I understand 10C has confirmed that the lottery will be the norm from now on.

Why? You dont like the lottery?

Maybe you'll get up front, or maybe you'll have to move back 2 rows, completely ruining the show, for EVERYBODY.

Yes - I heard they did mean to have Toronto and Chicago part of the lottery as well.

Does it mean that people with low numbers mught be put in rows 9 and 10 and higher numbers might get 1st and 2nd?? Is it a certain number - like the first people to pick up their tickets are part of the lottery?? Any guesses??

Rows 1,2,9,10 are set aside to be filled by lottery. The rest is seniority.
  • So even though someone has a low member number, they could still be 9th or 10th row?

Dont quote me on this but I believe this question came up when they first did the lottery and the 10C responded that a member who by seniority would be on row 3 for example wouldn't be pushed back to 9 or 10, like I said don't quote me.

If there was only upgrades how would they open up the rows?

I would guess rows 1 & 2 by seniority would prolly be moved back to 3,4....9,10>11,12

well yeah if you are lets say like the lowest number in the 10C ever (example) and 99% of the time you get first row then you will not be in first row (unless you win the lottery), since those are not longer given on seniority.

So if you are usually row 1 or 2 you will be pushed back.

    BUT..

let's say that you are by seniority row 4 or 5 but then your name gets pulled from the hat (not that they actually pull it from the hat) and you get row #9 they are not going to take your row 5 and give you row 9 they'll just leave you on row 5 and pull the next name, now the people that by seniority would sit on row 9 and 10 will be pushed back a couple of rows, I hope that makes sense.

Im trying to recall exactly how it was explained last year... but Im pretty sure that's how it works.

si in essence some people will be downgraded because of the lottery but no one will be downgraded because they won the lottery.. I still dont know if Im making any sense

I thought that too. After checking out benj's thread about the lottery weeks ago. That it's the norm. All show's via seatting, will be lottery style. But it's ok. What's 4 row's going back? That's 4 head's in front of you. Not hundreds of people in front of you. You might get lucky scoring those first 2 row's or 9th & 10th row. Just think good thoughts! :)

I'm a bit stoned on my Friday night, but that made perfect sense. .....regardless of how the 'ol lottery plays out, I am so damn excited to see these 2 shows from inside the building. We've kind of already won the lottery by getting tickets to see them right?
