I was just listening to my Dallas 2003 boot the other day and Eddie had us all raise a glass to Les Paul who turned 88 that day.
The impact he had on music cannot be overstated.DAL-7/5/98,10/17/00,6/9/03,11/15/13

Awww man this sucks.
The pride of Waukesha, Wisconsin may he rest in peace. Such a sad day.0 -
This thread needs a sticky if just for one day only please.
Every band including PJ should take a moment of silence and remember what Les did for the entire music world.
Very shocked to hear the news of his passing.0 -
He was truly a god and the world is a much more rockin place because of his genusWalkin on a slippery sidewalk listening to P.J0
-
That is really a shame...what a fucking genius he was...I just got another one of his guitars yesterday..."No way to save someone who won't take the rope, and just lets go..."0

Sad. A true legend! Inventor of the solid body guitar and four track recorder, to name a couple.
I was lucky enough to see him perform this time last year in NYC. He played the Iridium Jazz Club practically every Monday night.0 -

I saw Les Paul perform several times and met him a few times, too. A truly gracious and wonderful man and a true pioneer of electric guitar and recording technique. He always took time to speak to fans after shows and acted like like a regular guy with no pretense at all. A real gentleman.
Today is a sad day for music.0
