It seems like Philly is the hotbed of Pearl jam activism these days, does it rival and outpace Seattle for fan club member numbers?

I think you need to look at it more like these are the only East Coast shows we are gonna get this year so it's more like East coast vs Seattle.....Seattle never had a chance!!"If you want a friend, feed any animal." - JA

more 10 club members in Philly than Seattle means better Seattle seats for me. I have to wonder if it is true though.0

Seattle has a better 10c fanbase, it is the bands hometown, and i know lots of PJ fans out here even fans who are my age as well as the rest of the west coast, philly is just getting more attention because the east coast only gets one city.Shows:

I'm going with the Philly dates are the only east coats dates theory. I'm sure we are all equally fanatical about PJ regardless of where we live.0

I don’t think its only Philly, but more like the North East Coast, travelling within those states is much easier, say people from NY, NJ, MA, DC, etc so I think that for Philly shows besides that people that travel from other parts of the country, such as the West, Midwest and the South, then you have all of the 10C members for those states I mentioned before trying as well, I don’t think we can really compare the amount of 10C members in the NE to the amount of 10C members in Seattle."Without the album covers, where do you clean your pot?" - EV0

The real question is... does New Jersey have a bigger base than Seattle?
Most of the Philly shows you are referencing were in NJ and if you add in the shows in Holmdel, Atlantic City, and East Rutherford its pretty clear.1996: Randall's Island 2 1998: East Rutherford | MSG 1 & 2 2000: Cincinnati | Columbus | Jones Beach 1, 2, & 3 | Boston 1 | Camden 1 & 2 2003: Philadelphia | Uniondale | MSG 1 & 2 | Holmdel 2005: Atlantic City 1 2006: Camden 1 | East Rutherford 1 & 2 2008: Camden 1 & 2 | MSG 1 & 2 (#25) | Newark (EV) 2009: Philadelphia 1, 2 & 4 2010: Newark | MSG 1 & 2 2011: Toronto 1 2013: Wrigley Field | Brooklyn 2 | Philadelphia 1 & 2 | Baltimore 2015: Central Park 2016: Philadelphia 1 & 2 | MSG 1 & 2 | Fenway Park 2 | MSG (TOTD) 2017: Brooklyn (RnR HOF) 2020: MSG | Asbury Park 2021: Asbury Park 2022: MSG | Camden | Nashville 2024: MSG 1 & 2 (#50) | Philadelphia 1 & 2 | Baltimore 2025: Raleigh 20 -
this applies to anywhere in the northeast really. I'm so thankful i live in a 5 hour radius of all the major cities in the northeast. hell even buffalo isn't that far from me.Mrs.Vedder78 wrote:I don’t think its only Philly, but more like the North East Coast, travelling within those states is much easier, say people from NY, NJ, MA, DC, etc so I think that for Philly shows besides that people that travel from other parts of the country, such as the West, Midwest and the South, then you have all of the 10C members for those states I mentioned before trying as well, I don’t think we can really compare the amount of 10C members in the NE to the amount of 10C members in Seattle.Ron: I just don't feel like going out tonight

exactly my point. in this case we were talking about Philly but you are right, it would apply for all the other cities, i dont think any other market can be compared to that in the NE."Without the album covers, where do you clean your pot?" - EV0 -

Im not sure I understand exactly what you mean with "better" fanbase :?"Without the album covers, where do you clean your pot?" - EV0 -
Can't we all just get along?

the 4 shows have more to do with the closing of the spectrum than anything with fanclub i think. Maybe the spectrum people wanted a "big event" with the band closing the venue?? maybe a multi night run was what they wanted?? who knows.
All I know is I will be there every night.

Can it be that maybe many cities internationally have a huge fan base? I mean, they have been playing around the world since their conception. I would love to see them in Seattle but it is too far away. That being said, I've seen shows on several tours in the North East and the Bible Belt that were as good as any other shows in other cities, including Seattle. As far as fan base is concerned, I haven't the slightest clue which cities are more densely populated with fans.
I will see you in Philly baby!TDR0 -
I would be shocked if there weren't a decidedly larger number of 10 Clubbers in the Philadelphia area than in Seattle. Seattle might have more per capita, but the region simply can't compete with the Northeast in terms of population. Christ, there are probably more people that live within a three hour drive of the Spectrum than there are in Washington, Oregon, Utah, Nevada, and every other Western state (outside of California) combined.09/04/93 * 07/19/98 * 11/05/00 * 05/30/03 * 09/02/05 * 09/04/05 * 09/05/05 * 09/07/05 * 07/21/06 * 07/22/06 * 04/02/08 (eV) * 04/03/08 (eV) * 09/21/09 * 09/22/09 * 09/25/09 * 07/15/11 (eV) * 09/25/11 * 12/04/13 * 08/10/18 * 05/04/24 * 05/06/240
