Come on, Kat. Lets have some negotiation. Lets say we pick a charity that the band supports, and if we put together $X, we can get this bad boy released to those who donate.
Great idea. Two good things in one....donating and new music!
We don't even need physical copies (although, like Norm said, vinyl would be amazing). So, how about it Kat? Santos? Tim? I'm thinking since it is a ukulele album, the Surfrider Foundation would be a good place to donate our money.
Or to some worthy cause in Hawaii (the LAND of the uke!!!), or to the beach Ed likes to surf in Hawaii.... It's a ukelele guys so we need to get the Hawaiian surfing connection rolling.....
(but Kat, I'd still settle for Ed's phone number so I could ask him myself) 8-)~I want to realize brotherhood or identity not merely with the beings called human, but I want to realize identity with all life, even with such things as crawl upon earth.~

Something ocean-related would be great. It just fits so perfect to the ukulele. I'm in for Hawaii but open for other suggestions! Also wouldn't mind to get my hands dirty if needed.
Vinyl would be cool but don't have a player yet....well....if the songs would be released on vinyl I would spend the money on one :PYou can spend your time alone, re-digesting past regrets,
Or you can come to terms and realize
You're the only one who can't forgive yourself0 -
What was the foundation he played a private show for about keeping the resorts from expanding to some beach in Hawaii? Also, there is always Jack Johnson's Kokua Foundation0

This was all I was able to search out - nothing about a private show came up. Talks about the same foundation you mentioned.
"Local music sensation Jack Johnson hosts his annual Kokua Festival on Earth Day weekend (April 19-20) at the Waikīkī Shell. Last year’s festival featured an incredible music lineup including Jack Johnson, Eddie Vedder, young troubadour Matt Costa, and local island favorites. The popular event benefits the Kokua Hawai‘i Foundation and promotes eco-friendly living. Food booths, products and services from green companies, alternative energy demonstrations, interactive games and crafts for kids, and information from environmentally active groups from around the islands are also featured."
Works for me

Surfrider or Kokua makes sense to me. But maybe we should forward this thread on to Kat, Santos, or Tim?0

I'll add to this petition. I would love to see this album but can't imagine it being released on its own.0

I think that is a great idea but in April I have to do research offshore Korea
Maybe we can offer two or more separate dates / locations where people could volunteer and help. I'm on a boat for about 80 days, so maybe June, July, August would be fine for me to help somewhere......
As I said, I'm keen on doing something. I like to volunteer and when there is some new, awesome music on top of it, it would be perfect. You can spend your time alone, re-digesting past regrets,
Or you can come to terms and realize

That's a really good idea, but I'm not sure which one of them would be most appropriate, unless you just forward it to all three? Maybe we should try to drum up some more support before that happens by posting a link to one of the songs or something so people can HEAR how great the music is. Anybody know where to find any of the songs? Other ideas?
I remember Ed doing "Can't Keep" on Uke once and it was absolutely amazing........~I want to realize brotherhood or identity not merely with the beings called human, but I want to realize identity with all life, even with such things as crawl upon earth.~

I will sign my name to this proclamation and declare once again that it is the will of the people to have these shows made available immediately.

I like the contrast between his voice and the high tune (is that the word in English??) of the ukulele. Makes his voice appear even more awesome. You can spend your time alone, re-digesting past regrets,

Day Three...
Longing to Belong
i'm falling harder than i've
ever fell before
i'm fallin faster, hoping
i'll land in your arms
cause all my time is spent here
longing to belong
to you
i dream of circles perfect
eyes within your face
my heart's an open wound that
only you replace
and though the moon is rising
can't put your picture down
love, it's a frightning way to fall
and when the time is right, i
hope that you'll respond
like when the wind gets tired
and the ocean becomes calm
i may be dreaming but i'm
longing to belong
to you0 -

I'm all for a goooooooood BUMPMakes me ache, makes me shake...
...is it so wrong to think that love can keep us safe?0 -
Yes and yes. Add me to the list, tell me where to pick it up. The original interview said that he gave the recording to some friends and family...I can't believe a copy hasn't surfaced somewhere.
I'd also like to suggest it be called "To Lute: Songs to skip to..."this city is so filthy, like my mind in ways0 -
Here's an officially proclaimed bump for the uke download

I like this track. One of the better Uke songs imo.baby boomers selling you rumors of their history, forcing youth away from the truth of what's real today.0 -
I hate to say it, but I would pay way more than a normal record for this. Even if it comes in a sleeve with no booklet or anything I will pay at least $25. Hopefully that won't be the case, but I know a lot of fans are probably like me and would looovvveee to have this.words seem so out of place.

I will pay any price asked for this album and will do whatever it takes to get it released (that is if Ed wants it released. Which he should because the songs are amazing)0
