I've been offered 2 tickets from someone on facebook (not a friend, just someone from a Pearl Jam group). He wants £100 each which I'm happy to pay but I'm thinking it's just too good to be true. Apparantly they are
e-tickets from ticketweb. He's offering to show me email confirmation plus his ID but surely he could print the email off over and over again and be selling them to loads of different people. I don't know what to do! Terrified of losing £200 but more terrified of missing the show! Advice please!!

Exact same details as someone I've been in contact with .... gf on Facebook, passed on phone number, spoken to the chap on the phone - away for a few days, offering id and so on ... reading what's been written here is like reading the post I could have written myself.

Was the chaps name Andrew by any chance ? It sounds like a total scam, I'm gutted but also so relieved to find this here ... do someone need outing here .. ?

Yep his name is Andrew, he's away til tomorrow and his girlfriend is called Zel. He text me earlier saying he'd email the tickets to me if I paid by Paypal so I felt happier about it (thinking Paypal would cover me??) but if you've been in contact with the same guy then this is 100% dodgy.
Gutted that my 5th chance of going has fallen through but at least I havent lost £200 along the way.

Thanks for all your advice guys :(

Conversation between Zel and others. A couple of people vouching for her but I wouldn't be too sure about this.....

Apparently the tickets are gone anyway....

I'm even more confused now! The people vouching for her could be friends I suppose. If she's saying the tickets are gone then that must be to me because I'd arrange to meet her bf tomorrow. I really dont know what to believe. Also, I confiemed with Andrew on Sunday that I would have the tickets so how come Simon has been offered them as well?

Does anyone know if I would be covered if I paid through paypal or does it have to go through ebay?

Was this a guy on craigslist selling them for £80? If so I was in contact with him but figured it was a scam....looked to me like he had a confirmation from the O2 gig and was trying to pass it off as SBE,,as far as I know ticketweb have separate emails/confirmation/tickets...

Right, I decided I would rather risk losing £100 than always regret not trying or knowing whether they were legit so I got them! Wish me luck everyone, if you see a small blonde crying uncontrollably, that will be me with my dodgy tickets!

There's someone selling tickets on Gumtree. 4 tickets for £480. I asked him to sell me one or two for £120 / £240 but he is selling them all together. I am getting very frustrated now trying to find tickets at a reasonable price for this gig.

I just wish 10c could have given us more tickets.

Can't you try and round up another 2 or 3 people on here to buy the other ones?

I only know one person, via here, who will go in with me to be honest. Plus I don't have that much money to spend. All my other mates live up north and will only go to a gig if it's about a tenner Here is a transcript of the email conversation we had.

Me
Hi mate.
I will gladly be willing to buy one ticket for £120 if it is a standing ticket.
Please email me on xxx@hotmail.com or call me on 07xxxxx and I can come to you and pick it up if you are in London.
Cheers...Andy

Scalper
i am sorry but i can't sell you just one ticket
thank you anyway

Me
No worries mate.
What about two then for £240? Would that be ok or are you still wanting to sell four in one go?
Cheers.
Andy

Scalper
sorry but i am not prepared to split the tickets up,i already have offers for all 4 tickets
thank you anyway

Doesn' look like there's many options open to us I'm afraid!

I dispise touts, hate their guts. But becaues of the awful way this gig was sold, most of the tickets are in the hands of touts.

Does this bloke say his name is Cairan O'Reilly and that his ebay username is ticketsforyou21? If so, stay well clear... I emailed that ebay shop and they said a) they've never heard of him and b) they don't have any tickets to the gig.

Also, when I enquired about buying them, he made up some strange method about setting up a transaction through ebay, and asked for all my contact information and ebay username to start it. When I asked if he could just make a buy-it-now auction and email me the link, he went completely quite. I checked on ebay, and there's no way of doing what he was talking about, it's auction or nothing. Here's the email:
yes price for all 4 tickets is 380 pounds, they are located together side by side in level 1,i have the tickets in hands and my id on ebay is ticketsforyou21,i am a reputable member of ebay with great feedback as a seller.
Here is how it will work's
1.First of all I will need the following details from you:
- Full Name
- Full Shipping Address
- eBay user id
2. After I will receive the details from you, I will forward them to eBay.
3. After they will process your info, they will send you the invoice. In the invoice you will receive all the details on how to make a refundable payment.
4. eBay will contact me and I will ship the tickets to you. After you receive the tickets you will have 3 days to test, verify and do whatever you need to the tickets. If you will buy, then I will receive the payment from eBay .
5. If you will decide that you will not buy the tickets, eBay will refund the money and I will have the shipping company come pick up my tickets. Please get back to me asap if you decide to buy, and include in your e-mail your full name and address where you want it shipped so I can start the deal with eBay. You will receive all the transaction payment and shipping details from them.

Spot on mate. I don't have a paypal account (or can't be bothered to update my new card on paypal) so don't go down the ebay route. But yeah his name was Cairan O'Reilly. What a snake.

I'm afraid that for this kind of gig, there are no reasonable prices (after the normal sales).

I think 10C gave whatever number of tickets (and kind of tickets) the promoter gave them. I don't think it's 10C's decision how many tickets they will offer their fans.
