i'm still hopeful. if it doesn't happen, c'est la vie. i'll be disappointed sure, but i'll get over it quick enough. i mean, i still will be seeing the LAST show at the spectrum, and yea....getting my live pearl jam fix. 10.30 may end up being my one and only pj show this year - a first - but hey, at least i've got one show! sure, i'd love 2....back to back...friday/saturday....make the trip a bit more *worthwhile*....but yea.....whatever.....i'm STILL seeing pearl jam live this year! it's all good...
dont give me that BS about "they said no more shows." they monitor every post on this board, they see the rumors swirling and the questions coming into their inbox. the Spectrum is already selling suites for the show!
if its not gonna happen, its as simple as making a post on the board. if it's gonna happen, tell us so we can plan our trips and get back to work.
for a band that is big on conserving resources, think about how much worker productivity is wasted because of the way the band/10C releases news/puts tickets on sale/etc.
i'm getting REALLY frustrated with the 10C over this BS. have some respect for your customers and put yourselves in their shoes for 1 second, trying to plan a trip while waiting for information. and "there is no further information at this time" isnt good enough.
It's 10C trying to tell you something.... stay at home! Let the locals go to the show. There are plenty of other shows you can travel to, where the dates have already been announced. Do you really want to shut out a local? Think of your carbon footprint!
We'll see...I hope no more. I would LOVE to hit PJ Friday AND take the kids out Saturday.
You can take your kids out Saturday night regardless of PJ playing a 3rd show. We will let you know how it is. You are probably only going to miss "No way."
We'll see...I hope no more. I would LOVE to hit PJ Friday AND take the kids out Saturday.
WOW... two shows isn't enough, you need three? PLUS you would see a THIRD show over Halloween with your kids? Please take your kids out for Halloween. Make more memories with your family than with Pearl Jam.

Ok, so this guy from Scpectrum just called me 'cause I had inquire about VIP/Club Box Seats, (which they only have VIP tickets left for $285.00 per person), and he just told me that the Saturday show is yet to be announced and he could not confirm anything, as he said "is still up in the air". Hopefully it will happen, it will be better of for me, otherwise I will have to spend too much much and loose time from work.
"makes much more sense, to live in the present tense"
And that, I think, was the handle - that sense of inevitable victory over the forces of old and evil. Not in any mean or military sense; we didn't need that. Our energy would simply prevail. We had all the momentum; we were riding the crest of a high and beautiful wave. So now, less than five years later, you can go up on a steep hill in PHILADELPHIA and look west, and with the right kind of eyes you can almost see the high-water mark - that place where the wave finally broke and rolled back.
There will be a 3rd show..this is the gospel according to Gonzo
After the "tour" announcement, didn't the 10C specifically state that there were not gong to be any more shows announced as part of this tour.
These were the two statements the 10C released w/ the tour info...the first, directly underneath the tour dates:
Note: Potential additional dates and corresponding on-sale information may be announced at a later date.
The second, at the bottom of the page:
At this time, there are no more North American dates to be added to the current tour.
A little contradictory, but what I take from that is there are potential rollover dates coming, like Philly 3, or, say, a second night in San Diego. That's why that note is directly underneath the tour dates.
I think the statement at the bottom of the page is to say there won't be any additional cities this year. Of course, "at this time" leaves the door wide open, so make of it what you will...

As much as I hope there's a 3rd show, and as much as I don't put stock in what some radio station says (face it, most radio stations exist for PROFIT - they'll say anything they think will get more listeners so they can sell more or higher-priced advertising), the band is not responsible for what we do as we wait for and try to find out about shows!

no, but they can influence it, just like they try to influence our votes, our shopping habits and our energy consumption.
I just called up comcasttix because I still haven't recieved my print-at-home tickets. The girl told me that they're holding the Pearl Jam tickets (it usually takes 48 hours) and that they'll be emailed within a week or two.
So while I had her on the line I asked her if there would be a Saturday show and she said "No, not that we know of."
I wouldn't say that confirms it. But at least it's out of a Comcast worker's mouth rather than "my uncle's friend's nephew who cleans the bathrooms at the Spectrum."
I wouldnt take into account much of what those first line people say. They really cant talk about unannounced shows. Plus when I called up twice last Friday trying to get tickets they kept telling me both shows (10/28 & 10/30) were sold out and no more tickets would be released even though I was still able to get tickets thru the site.

I got ya. Well that's good news. We can keep hope alive.
I still think that there will be a saturday show. I called the Spectrum yesterday and the lady I spoke with told me that we would be getting an announcement sometime this week about the 10/31 show and that I should keep checking the Comcast website or calling the phone # for updates.
I have a feeling that there will be no more shows added.....that 10/28 and 10/30 is it.
dont you think we would have heard officially from 10c by now?
i have tix to both shows and would be a little pissed off if they added a show on 10/31 because i was under the impression that i would be seeing the final spectrum concert. same with 10/28...id be pissed if they added a show earlier in the week because i suddenly go from having the first show of the 'run' and the final show at the venue to having the two middle shows. that wold be balls

I'd bet a lot that 10/31 is happening. That was the rumor all along, and PJ pretty clearly seemed inclined to play it by setting the original dates of 10/28 and 10/30. Plus the sales people selling out all those club seats for 10/31, etc. -- not to mention how quickly the first two shows sold out (other than behind-stage and upper-deck singles to 10/28).

I am in the same boat. Balls indeed, my friend, balls indeed.
Yeah, it would be very peculiar to schedule Wednesday and Friday shows only if they weren't doing a Saturday show. It seems downright silly not to do it. I can't imagine what the reasoning would be not to add the third show. I'm not sure if the lack of a Saturday show would inflate or deflate Friday ticket values. On one hand, it would mean that show is the definite final show and the only semi-weekend night to see them. On the other hand, some people might bag the travel plans if they can only catch one night with a weekend trip to Philly. I really hope they play some more dates.
Looking at some of the past tour trends, they don't always kick off the tour right when the album comes out. I'm thinking they must be planning a much larger tour for like January-March 2010. I just don't know how they could possibly release an album and only support it in four U.S. cities. That would be crazy.

The people who have spilled the beans previously about the Saturday show have probably been told to remain quiet because of rabid fans like us who keep bombarding their phone lines

If they were only playing 2 shows then why would they need a day off in between them? It does not make any sense...they would be playing them back to back like they are in Seattle.
