Well, that's fair enough... a bit worrying for me, though! I've been signed up here for 5 years but haven't posted in ages! I've been top class lurker! :) Hopefully some kind soul might trust me enough...

Well, I'm in the same situation. I joined five years ago too. I actually had a load of posts on the old board, including about how I met Eddie at the Jools Holland show but those seem to have completely disappeared from my post count for some reason!

HI all - I just talked to HMV and was advised the following:

Emails are being sent out to everyone who pre-ordered the album before the deadline. They started being sent out at 5pm and will reach email inboxes by 9am tomorrow apparently at the latest as the pre-sale opens at 9am! I asked what we should do if we do not receive the mail as HMV's helpline closes at 6pm and they said all we can do if the mail does not come through with the link in, is phone them at 9am tomorrow morning!

FIngers crossed all of us that the email gets through!!

how long does it take to send an email...!!!?? or, in other words, they've got a feck of a lot to send! ;) :(
Oh yeah? Well, I've had about enough of morons and halfwits, dolts, dunces, dullards and dumbbells - and you chowderhead yokel, you blithering hayseed, you - you've had enough of me?

I'm in with the lottery. Looking forward to seeing a HMV email too.

BUT $US145 FOR A PAIR OF TICKETS FOR THE SHEPHERD'S BUSH EMPIRE IS VERY EXPENSIVE...

I can't afford to end up with four, but I am sure I can get rid of the other three on here if need be.

    Fingers crossed people.
    :D Rock on!!!! :D
Seen Pearl Jam 4 times in London, once in Manchester, as well as an Eddie show at Hammersmith.
  • The girl at HMV was unimpressed by my over excitedness :) I tried to explain I just wanted to be sure I wasn't going to miss the link but they weren't really too helpful :)

I just realised I have been on here for 4 years and haven't posted much at all - shame on me!!

£87 for two tickets to a special show like this? Don't think that's expensive!

  • :P Thanks ML :)

I have just checked my SPAM box about ten times, I may need camomile tea soon. We're all going to end up on some kind of overnight vigil on here. I'll bring the cupcakes and whiskey..!

145.00 US dollars = 88.74 British pounds sterling , so £44.50 each ... which is around the £40 mark the general sale tickets have been announced at.

I know pal! Don't worry whenever I see anything in a currency which isn't the £, I double check how much I'm gonna get fleeced!

When I bought Wembley tickets in 07, it was $181. When I booked the O2, it was around $142. Circa £90 came out of my bank on both occasions.

HMV sent an e-mail last week notifying everyone that likes Indie / Alt Rock & Metal (I guess that was who they sent it to) that if they pre-ordered the album they'd get the link to the pre-sale. I bet that's A LOT OF PEOPLE.

These e-mails can take quite a while to send if the list if long, and I reckon it's VERY long, as lots of people will have pre-ordered even if just to try & get tickets if only to re-sell them on eBay. And then there's the actual touts...

This wait is going to be hell, and now I have to leave work to go home, so will not get in front of my computer for about another 90 mins... :/

I pre-ordered Backspacer via HMV yesterday afternoon about 5pm. 24 hours later still no email. Don't hold your breath until about 0856 tomorrow pal.

    I know pal!

I know - already seen quite a few people on the boards who seem confused about the prices ... hardly surprising, when it comes to something like this the actual numbers that come after that little £ sign can seem irrelevant .. !

Anyway ... lottery applied for, fingers are crossed and just hoping for the best ... appropriately today, it's one small step for a man ... !

If I'm not fortunate enough to win in the lottery I'll be sticking my flag into the surface of my moon which reads 'SBE ticket for MEN and /or O2 ticket/s'.

Every blessing to you all. And good luck

  • The wait is going to be murder. Not just to see if we've been lucky for the 10c pre-sale but to see if HMV can actually do their jobs & get us that link!

At this rate I'll have chewed my fingers to the bone with nerves.

Is some hero going to post the link online here just before 9am or isn't it worth it with touts sniffing around?

Fair enough then. I wonder if 10C will be downstairs and the other sale tickets will be for the seated areas upstairs. I have never been in those areas, have no intention to either but needs must sometimes.
