Hell yeah!!!
http://spin.com/articles/exclusive-pixi ... ttle-shows
Alt-rock kingpins the Pixies will make their live return to the U.S. this fall!
Frontman Frank Black tells SPIN.com that the Boston-born quartet will celebrate the 20th anniversary of their groundbreaking release, Doolittle, by playing the album in its entirety in Oakland, Los Angeles, Seattle, Denver, Chicago, Boston, Washington DC, New York City, and "maybe Montreal" this fall.
"I believe we're doing the Wang Center in Boston," he says of his hometown gig at the 3,600-capacity venue.
Exact dates have yet to be confirmed. The U.S. tour is expected to follow a run of Doolittle shows in Europe scheduled for October.
The gigs will coincide with the release of the Pixies' ambitious Minotaur box set, which will arrive in October on 4AD Records (order yours now via Artist in Residence).
Black notes that 2010 will mark the 20th anniversary of Bossa Nova, and didn't dismiss the idea of performing that album's songs back-to-back, too.
"We don't want to get blood out of a stone or anything. It's not like we're seeking offers -- but the phone just always rings." One recent call was a proposal to open for Neil Young at the U.K.'s Isle of Wight festival this past June.
"You get that phone call and you go," enthuses Black. "Neil Young? Yeah, I'll be there; I'll sing the old songs -- sure!"

I didn't realise that we get them in Europe before the US do!
We also got Faith No More first as well.
If Pearl Jam start playing 'Backspacer' songs over here in August, does that mean we get them first too..?

The wild part about the Pixies....
..before they disbanded and reformed of course...
At that time the bands biggest show EVER in their hometown of Boston was a sell out at the Orpheum Theater (about 2800 capacity). Sure they opened for U2 as well on the indoor Zoo TV tour but even in their hometown they were never as huge as they were overseas. Another band that suffers the same fate is Buffalo Tom. I used to work w/a guy from Scotland who nearly passed out when I told him he could see them at the Paradise (cap 550) when in his homeland they'd headline the major festivals.0 -

The love at Coachella for the Pixies (their first US appearance on the reunion tour) was off the chart ... I'd say 40 of the 50 thousand people on site were at the main stage, crammed to see them play.
I've seen Buffalo Tom between 12-15 times over the years, only band that is on par with PJ as my favorite band.
Always a bit baffled at the fact Buffalo Tom were not a bigger band ... "Let Me Come Over" still remains my favorite album by any band, ever.
I saw them here in San Francisco last year ... and wow, what a different experience from seeing them in Boston ... they played a place about as big as the Paradise, but it was only 3/4 full ... and the crowd was really lame ... and Bill was not his usual talkative self ... odd vibe.
Fact, PJ once played a show where they were on before Buffalo Tom, Lemonheads were the headliner.

Got tickets for Pixies in London on 9 October as well. Really looking forward to it, saw them at the V Festival in 2004 and left before the Strokes came on (not a fan), was worth the day ticket to see them and Thea Gilmore, there wasn't anything else of note on that day. Saw them the next year in Edinburgh (supported by Idlewild) which was excellent but really looking forward to seeing them play an indoor gig.The secret to a happy ending is knowing when to roll the credits0
