Creating a Hartford Setlist

Our task: To create/imagine/guess/whatever a setlist for the Hartford show.
Reason: Do we need one? I've got 18 days of teaching left in the school year, I'm fired the funk up for the show (driving in from Missouri) and I thought it might be cool to get some help from the rest of you. Either that, or I'm bored.
Rules: The best kind...few and simple. Create a setlist for the shop based on previous shows, the whimsy in your brain (what do you want to hear and where do you think it will go?) kind of stuff. I'll throw out a song with a reason/suggestion. Then we discuss/debate and all that stuff that we like to do when there's nothing better to do and can go to the message board for some relief. I'll check the board from time to time and when a case has been made or the steam has run out and we'll build us a set list. Who knows...maybe some of this might even come to fruition June 27!
What's in it for me?: A beverage or two at the Hartford preshow? A firm handshake or a hug? C'mon...it's for fun!
Let's give it a shot....and if it works, we'll do the Boston shows, too.
Here we go...

Did some research. This is the third show PJ has ever done in Hartford. The previous openers? Corduroy and Severed Hand. I'm thinking we're going old school here. Something unique. Something atmospheric...
My initial thought is Release, but I'm going to go with something a little more obscure.
 Oceans
 ok, your turn...
 agree, disagree...let's hear it!0

Would love to hear Oceans as an opener, but I don't think it works for Hartford, maybe for one of the mansfield shows.
Something like Breakerfall I am thinking...0

            i hear you...so you're thinking a little more upbeat. it's rare enough...might work...
interested to see what the others might think.
p.s. -- hartford is close enough to an ocean, isn't it? :-)0

            Obscure opener? Hmmm...........Yellow Ledbetter.5/28/06, 6/27/08, 10/28/09, 5/18/10, 5/21/10
 8/7/08, 6/9/090

talk about messin' with people. can you imagine the buzz THAT would create?
 i'm liking where you're taking me...0

not complaining, but i hope it's a lot better than the last hartford show.

nice catch on my research mistake...must've missed one while zipping through the setlist page. as always, a variety of opinions and no one can seem to come to a general consensus, so....i'm sticking to my guns this one time.
but just to show a little love to bloodredmosquito, i think we'll go this way to start:
Preset: Long Nights (also one of my faves off ITW) do we add a second one here??
 First Set:
 1. Oceans
 2.
Ok, a little mood music to set the tone...let's pick it up a bit and get the party started. I'm thinking something uptempo here. as a shout out to binfrog, (who, despite not wanting to wait to do this song by song :-) ), has a great idea with "Go."
 Let's get mike going early...
 i second binfrog -- Go, anyone?0

I read "Hartford" "Create" and "Setlist" and went off on a tangent Bright eyed kid: "Wow Typo Man, you're the best!" Bright eyed kid: "Wow Typo Man, you're the best!"

these days it's sometimes hard to find and appreciate positive enthusiasm.
certainly wouldn't want to get in the way of that. you just showed your cards a little early, that's all.

I have to disagree with previous poster, the band was excellent at the last show, but the sound on the lawn is the worst and it was cold and damp. Check out the boot. The Hartford and Albany show setlists were very complimentary and a nice back to back run of tunes.High and Inside, Low and Away0
