Are you located in Northeast PA? I play drums and really want to get a PJ project going when I move back to Philly in August.

No Code is from the central Jersey area. They put on a great show. A few of the guys are on the forum.

I HAil-HAil from Northeast PA, specifically Kulpmont, PA, but am presently living in S. FL.

I'm trying out drums myself--especially PJ but the swing off-beatish Jimi Hendrix band style comes the easiest to me. The hardest part is carving out the piece of brain that operates just that right foot. I feel like I'm constantly tapping my head and rubbing my tummy. Guitar players have no right to make faces--only drummers. They are splitting their brains into quadrants. (there is no face-split-into-4 emoticon) :?

I can do the 2-way brain split from piano experience, but I always find with drums that the right foot just taps along with whatever the hands are doing.

    Anyway, thanks for the info.

Funny you mention the piano thing because I'm the opposite. I haven't really given piano a great try, but when I have, my left hand can never catch up. Drumming will get easier for you. It really becomes natural after a while.

Many moons ago there was a Pearl Jam Cover band from the Philly area called "Dissident". I was in that band playing lead and rhythm. We recorded three tracks. Listen to them here:

Sorry they are in windows media format...

Anyways, would love to jam again with an Pearl Jammers out there. If you are in the beach area in Delaware or Maryland, shoot me an email at cmcasas "at" gmail "dot" com

    Peace.
