I really don't see any "damage" here. Looks like a band promoting their music to the masses. Nothing wrong with that- as far as I'm concerned. I should also mention that I shopped at Target today and spent over $200.00. I will continue to shop at Target and will also remain a loyal Pearl Jam Fan. Hope that doesn't make me some kind of "traitor" or anything. With that said - I do understand "Teenage Angst" -as I have been THERE once, too. NOT that I care ..about what the "Black-Eyed Peas" do/does -as I don't follow their music. (But they remain VERY "relevent" to others...)"Black Eyed Peas" participated in THIS {Target} commercial - as THEY give back to the community as well. To do this- requires promotion of THIEIR music. As long as people care about the music -they will continue to contribute - where and when possible - THAT's what matters.......IMO Ever "research" what "Will I Am" has done? VERY COOL. The greatness of a nation can be judged by the way its animals are treated - Gandhi Ever "research" what "Will I Am" has done? VERY COOL. Although I have braced myself for the impending commercial, I still think I'm gonna pass out when I see it.0

Then let me ask ya....do you love the "music" or are you much more in love with an "ideology?" Pearl Jam remain HUMAN and not Demogods (sp). YOU have to find you're OWN truth.....and please remain realistic about it. I say - Just enjoy THEIR music, Afterall - it' really GREAT MUSIC! promoting your music is great i love that. I love their music they are my favorite band and i like the black eyed peas too but in that commercial they were like dancing on the target symbol and stuff and idunno it was just kinda stupid and i still hope they dont do it. But ill support PJ no matter what they do even if they do decide to waer the target smybol i will be dissapointed but I still will support them same as always cuz i love their music and im so psyched for the first single and the new album and tour dates cuz thats whats most important in the end.PearlJain wrote:PJ_kidd wrote:

PJ=SOLD THE F@#$ OUT!!!! Just a few short years ago ed was ranting about jewel doing that commercial for that razer and how they were offered all this money to use alive in a viagra commercial, and that time they made the promoters take down the dodge advertisements in front of the stage at the Greek--and it was great!!!! I loved those guys, fightin the good fight!!! March on brothers!!!! And now? Look at them--a musical billboard, they can't sell out fast enough. DISGUSTING!!!!
The pearl jam we knew is long gone....sad but a fact....0

ok let me break this down for you....
Jewel's music in a razor commercial is an advertisement for a razor.
PJ's Alive in a viagra commercial is an advertisement for viagra....
PJ's Target commercial is promoting their fucking music.
Whether you like it or not there is a difference... Pearl Jam was in bed with a record company for years and years and no one said anything... and now that they are picking and choosing who they do business with based on the knowledge they have of the record industry AND big business they are getting shit on by people who won't take the fucking time to think about it... how about they don't release their next record at all?
Also, having a random sign up in a venue that has nothing to do with your music or the things you support is certainly grounds to have it removed if you wish. If you owned a bar and had up signs for Blue Moon but didn't have any in stock wouldn't you take down the blue moon sign? It's a weak analogy but it works.0

I'm starting to look like I have no job, nor life, and that I contribute waaaay to much to this websight - which I probably do. I just wish I could say what I have to say in the fewest words as possible - and actually make a point which means something to someone. I cant' seem to do it. I don't know why I bother..- to come here anymore. I like the music I like. I shop where I like to shop. I don't feel any more need to justify. This in and of itself is stupid. The greatness of a nation can be judged by the way its animals are treated - Gandhi

The day that pj plays only bongos and bolivian flutes in the nude, that´s when most people will be happy with their ideals. The rest that love their music will cancel their memberships, probably.
I think they´ve proved enough where they stand. Nough said....IN THE DARK, ALL CATS ARE BLACK.0
