This was at Melbourne's Myer Music Bowl.
This just made my night, best video I've discovered on YouTube in a long time.
Watch out for the ch 7 news footage in the middle of fans stampeding into the venue.
Also Mike goes mental at the end.
For all you Aussie fans this will excite you!

Saving this link for sure 8-)

From the Vitalogy tour 1995 wiki page...
"About cancelling the dates, Vedder said, "I think we all agreed that it had gotten insane, that it was no longer about the music."[5] Ament later said, "We were so hardheaded about the 1995 tour. Had to prove we could tour on our own, and it pretty much killed us, killed our career."[2] A concert video of the Australian tour was planned,[6] but later scrapped."
Oh dammit, this would've been on that surely, I think it is the actual footage they would've used as it has all that timer stuff on the video itself.

Are you new?
This is from the 95 movie that is generally not discussed around these parts...0 -
Yes I am new.
I read it is from some movie.
Why isn't it discussed? :? :?:Adelaide 17/11/2009, Melbourne 20/11/2009, Sydney 22/11/2009, Melbourne (Big Day Out Festival) 24/01/20140 -
I think you will find the Youtube clip is actually from Rod Laver Arena. I have the bootleg of the show and Ed comments before Corduroy (about 6 songs in) that he was disappointed they couldnt open the roof to see the full moon.
Needless to say that show in genereal is fucking unbelievable!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! wherever the fuck it was played!

Yes, it's Melbourne Park/Rod Laver arena... listening to that on JJJ's "Live at the Wireless", I had that "NW" speech memorised

I thought the news footage mentioned the music bowl?Adelaide 17/11/2009, Melbourne 20/11/2009, Sydney 22/11/2009, Melbourne (Big Day Out Festival) 24/01/20140

There was a movie made but it never got released, it somehow leaked so it's considered taboo.Thoughts_Arrive wrote:Yes I am new.

The NW speech is from 17/3/1995 at Flinders Park, they played the Bowl the next night so presumably the footage is a combination of all the Melbourne footage.0 -
Goddamn wish I'd been into the band back then. Missed some unbelievable concerts at the bowl and have been trying to make up for it ever since. Thanks for posting the video. I wish they'd come back and do the bowl again, but we'll have to be content with Rod Laver Arena with the roof open (Ed said they'd open the roof for the next concert there, whenever that will be).0

No, that footage definitely is from the Bowl, not RLA. I've been to all 6 concerts at RLA in 03 and 06, and this wasn't one of them. Absolutely insane footage, hadn't seen it before. I know it was from the Bowl cos of the news footage where part of the fence was ripped down and fans stampeded to get in, so the decision was made to open the gate to let 'em all in (those who hadn't paid). Things were crazy with the band back then, so much less hysteria around the band these days, probably prefer it now though I wish I'd been part of the scene back then. Can't believe things were that crazy about PJ in my own home town! I must be getting conservative in my old age. Never knew Mike dropped his pants in Melbourne, you learn something new every day!
Looks like it was a great show. 0 -

Ah yes, 3/17/95 .. one of my favorite Octupus bootleg releases, ever!

The news footage is from the Bowl (it's cut in), but the beginning stuff with Ed talking about NW and the security is from the Flinders Park show on March 17, it was broadcast on JJJ around the country. The Myer Music Bowl show was the following night where there was more mayhem. If you look in the top left hand corner, the date is recorded and it ends with footage from Brisbane... in fact there is footage cut in of crowds in a number of cities around Australia from that tour.Glaciers melting in the dead of night and the superstars sucked into the supermassive.0

You may be in the know? Can you help me? I remember taping the JJJ broadcast of one of the Melb shows in '95 (i'm pretty sure) and the show had an awesome version of Porch that sang... " i heard her say... I heard her say... for the ultimate thrill, you gotta pay the ultimate price... i don't know if that's right, but i just might try, i just might try... i heard her say". Can anyone identify which show that was and any leads on how to get my favourite version of Porch back?
Many thanks0 -
The only show broadcast on Triple J's "Live At The Wireless", in 1995, was March 17th from Melbourne Park. My apologies but I can't locate the link where you can download that show right now.Glaciers melting in the dead of night and the superstars sucked into the supermassive.0
