    He is awesome. AWESOME.

The song come pick me up is on his heartbreaker album.
I suggest getting the Album Cold Roses. It is my favorite.

Here is how i would rank his albums:
    Cold Roses
    Gold
    Heartbreaker
    Easy Tiger
    Love Is Hell (1 & 2)
    Jacksonville City Nights
    Cardinology
    Rock N Roll
    29
Then after you haev all ove those go back and get his first band's albums from when he was in Whiskeytown. Strangers Almanac and Pneumonia are very good.

Then you can look for his unreleased albums like 48 hours and The Suicide Handbook.

so basically you have a lot of catching up to do ;)

Pretty much nailed it on the head here. I actually like "Cardinology" a bit more than you. While it is was never officially released, the "Suicide Handbook" is as good as it gets when it comes to RA (minus Cold Roses). "Cold Roses" is possibly one of my favorite albums of all time.

I totally agree...we've talked about this guy before ;)

I would've ranked Love Is Hell a little higher, but that's just me...overall Ryan Adams is a gem!

he's brilliant. The House is not for sale, is one hell of a song. And his version of Wonderwall is breathtaking. The piano at the end is heartbreaking. I love World War 24 is great. Shadowlands is great.

So you can tell I love Love is Hell!

Anyways, he is a great musician.

As Stephen King said :“I won’t say Adams is the best North American singer songwriter since Neil Young…but I won’t say he isn’t either".

I don't think any band has topped what he's done in the last 10 years.
Believe me, when I was growin up, I thought the worst thing you could turn out to be was normal, So I say freaks in the most complementary way. Here's a song by a fellow freak - E.V

I just downloaded 'The Suicide Handbook'.

I didn't think he could be any more genius... Shit.

To the OP, I'd start with "Heartbreaker"

So I know you have a lot of suggetion here but I'll put in my .02 too. Love is Hell and Cold Roses is my favorite. They are must haves for anyone. Those two are where I would start.

Also, check out his cover of AIC's Down in a Hole. You can probably find it on youtube. It's amazing!

    Ryan Adams = Mr. Derivatve.

Still, 'Cold Roses' and '29' aren't too bad.

I downloaded Cold Roses a while ago and it turns out that the mp3s I got were mislabeled (CD 1 was actually CD 2, and CD 2 was actually CD 1) well, a few weeks later I finally get around to buying Cold Roses on CD and on a car trip I popped in CD 1 expecting to hear Easy Plateau, but Magnolia Mountain came on!! I ejected the CD to check that I put the right one in and then realize that the mp3s on my computer were mislabeled!!! I nearly crashed and broke my spine......

Haha. Yeah, there is way too much to be said for Ryan Adams...he's a well accomplished song writer, and he has the ability to cover a wide variety of music styles.
