    this is pretty cool. a few hours ago I was a hapless loser... now I'm a hapless loser with a dream to get a ticket to the conan show, but people wanna get with me... er... wanna get with my hypothetical extra ticket. good enuff for me!

    HI Express still avail on expedia.com ~$120/night.
    Days Inn at SUNY (college campus ~ 4 miles away, closer than airport) - ~$70/night for a Queen bed. also on expedia.com.

    I'd still go for the HI Express unless cost isn't really a concern but I'd guess that it is since you're looking for deals. if you're looking for priceline type deals downtown, I think you're SOL. If you wanna stay in a nice place for a low price and the drive doesn't matter to you, there may still be places near airport or elsewhere avail on priceline, but I haven't looked there.

    Why are you staying near the airport that is so far away. There has to be a better deal closer than that. Did you look at the Holiday Inn on Broadway?

    I can probably score a 3 star place for $50 on priceline near the airport.....

    The Day's Inn on Western that somebody else mentioned is probably the cheapest decent place. It's a pretty quick cab ride from there to the Palace. I live right down the road and a cab ride cost something like $11.

    If oyu can get a nicer place on Priceline for $50 near the airport (most likely Wolf Rd.) I say go for it. It's a little bit more of a cab ride, but not too bad.
